Rio Spa is perhaps the most well known of all the Macau saunas. I don’t know if that’s because the Rio Hotel is so visible, because the facilities are so large and lavish or because the sauna has such a large and diverse staff. If I had to guess I’d say it’s probably a combination of all of these things.

Rio is possibly the easiest to find of all the saunas in Macau. Well, at least the building that houses it is. The Rio Hotel boasts a large neon facade that can be seen from quite a distance, day or night. It also helps that it’s located on the edge of a park, which makes it even more visible. The sauna inside isn’t exactly well advertised but it’s not hidden either. When you enter the Rio you simply head to the elevators and press the button for the fifth floor.

Rio Spa is without a doubt one of the nicest saunas in the Special Administrative Region of Macau. That really means something since all the saunas are basically top of the line when it comes to male entertainment. Rio is comparable to most other saunas but it has a sort of executive or first class feel about it. The prices definitely reflect that feeling. Rio is also one of the most expensive saunas in town.

You do what Rio what you’d do at any other sauna. Drop your things in the locker, take a shower, take a dip, and head into the lounge. There’s nothing special to mention about the attendants who help with these things.

The lounge room on the other hand is a little special. It’s not necessarily any different or even any better than other sauna lounges, it’s just gigantic. There are plenty of rows of reclining seats. What’s great is that they face televisions and walls rather than other chairs as is common in Macau saunas. Despite the layout and size of the place it can get quite crowded, which I find off putting. I remember visiting once on a Tuesday night at around 10 pm and the place was almost full. I had a Japanese guy seated directly to my left and a Chinese guy sleeping and snoring directly to my right.

Personally, I’d much prefer it if every place I visited was completely empty. I’d love to be the only customer everywhere I go. Of course I realize that this is the direct opposite of what the businesses want. I’m usually happy with something somewhere in the middle and I believe it would actually help business too. A full room can really cut into the “executive imagine” I referred to earlier.

Don’t get me wrong. Rio isn’t always crowded. There are times when it’s almost empty. In either case there are lots of services available and plenty of people to render them. Most of the hands-on attendants are Indonesian or Vietnamese. Like the other saunas, these attendants were special colored outfits to indicate their work.

The light green outfits are worn by the women who do foot massages. The light pink outfits are worn by the women who do other massages. The light red outfits, which look a lot like the light pink outfits, are worn by the women who do the “thigh massages.” Those who have read my previous sauna reviews or who are otherwise familiar with the scene will know that your thighs don’t get nearly as much attention as your dick and balls do during these massages.

Thigh massages at Rio happen right in the lounge. An attendant recently told me they are no longer allowing them in private rooms as some customers were going for the cheap happy ending then heading out the door. Since they would have to pay a sauna fee in that case (which is waved when you take a full service girl) I don’t see what the big deal is, though I can understand why they would want to get the maximum revenue out of each customer.

I don’t really have any complaints about any of the services except that on exceptionally busy nights (like the Tuesday I mentioned) it can take a few minutes to find an attendant to provide the service you’re after. This may sound like a small complaint but when I’m shelling out hundreds of dollars I expect a certain level of treatment. I don’t want to have to track people down. The prices are a little high. A round of pecker priming is 237 Hong Kong Dollars ($31 US), and the other services are 193 HKD ($25 US).

The food at Rio is good but not great. Since it’s free I don’t really have anything to say about it. Rio does have a pretty extensive paid food menu that’s larger than any other I’ve seen. I’ve ordered from it a few times but I didn’t get anything that much better than what’s given at no cost. The portions were just a little larger.

The line up is where Rio really shines. There can be a hundred or more women on call at any given time and all it takes to see them is to ask for it. The management usually tries to find at least one other customer to make it more worth their while but they’ll go on if it’s only you. The line up is done is the pool area. I prefer when they’re done right in front of your lounge chair as they are at places like Famile Nobre and Golden Sauna but I understand why it’s done this way at Rio with so many women working here.

The full service staff at Rio is as diverse as it is plentiful. On my last visit there were Vietnamese, Chinese, Taiwanese, Korean and Japanese women available. Nearly all were attractive. Quite a few stunningly so. There’s also a large number of busty women here, both of the natural and the artificially upgraded variety.

Once you pick your woman you will head back to the full service rooms. These seem to have slightly lower ceilings than some of the other full service rooms around town but they also look a little nicer. They have big bed and large shower attached shower rooms. The standard flat screen television with porn on channel ten is also there, along with a few mirrors. The shower table is of the more expensive variety. Rather than just a flat table, this style is a sort of a shallow tub that allows some of the water to stay in the table while you lay on it. It’s comfortable enough, even without the “milk bath” that the attendant may try to sell you after you chose your lady (I’m all for quality upgrades but this is just some white stuff mixed in the water).

The full service is pretty standard, which in the case of Macau saunas means great. Things always depend on the provider you get and the chemistry between the two of you, but you can be sure that you will leave satisfied. While each lady has their own way of doing things I will say that I’ve nearly always got the old tongue lashing up the backside at Rio, even though it usually doesn’t last that long. When it comes to the oral action, both the hot and cold (sucking with a mouth full of warm tea followed by sucking with a mouth full of ice water) and minty (sucking with a mouth full of mouthwash) varieties commonly make appearances.

After showering you get everything you would expect. More sucking following by strapping up and going at it. This is followed by another shower, with your girl washing you up and drying you off a final time before showing you back to the lounge.

To give you an idea of the prices at Rio I can tell you that a sauna session including two dick and ball massages, two foot massages, two head and should massages and a round of full service fun with a Chinese gal will come out to be about 3650 Hong Kong Dollars, which is the equivalent of $470 US dollars. That’s quite a chunk of change. If you get into ad-ons like the private lounge room and milk baths it’s going to be even more than that.

Rio Spa’s best features are its size, the level of luxury, and the number of women on the full service staff. Negative aspects are the prices and how crowded the place can get (which also makes the service slower). Balancing the two against each other still leaves you with an overall positive experience.

Rio Spa really is an amazing place. Compared to almost anything in the world it’s really up there toward the top. On the other hand, when compared with other saunas in Macau and considering things like the price and how busy it can get, it doesn’t seem as spectacular. In giving Rio a score I wanted to make sure to be as fair as possible while taking all of this into account. After some consideration I came up with a solid four, which I think is just right.

With ads like this around town you know you’re in a place where fun happens.

Guys who have visited the Special Administrative Region of Macau at some point or even read the reviews I’ve done of Macau saunas on this website will have no trouble understanding why the place is often referred to as a male paradise. Those who have not had the pleasure of checking out the scene may not. Sometimes I think it may not be worth my time to share the information I have since there’s already so much floating around on the internet. Then I come across a review like this (which is titled “Avoid unless your like prostitution and gambling,” as absurd as titling a review of Alaska “Avoid unless you like snow and nature”) and I realize there are still millions or even billions of people in the world who really are unaware of what goes on in places like Macau. I write this report with that in mind.

The sale of sexual services in legal in Macau, which is precisely why there are so many high quality, sanitary, well-organized and generally safe options available. Sex workers in Macau have access to free health services, and in 2012 Vicky Lei Wai Kei from the Health Bureau of Macau said  that “no HIV positive case was found among the women” she had access to, even those tended to be on the lower / less expensive end of the spectrum.

Although the Macau SAR is quite small and compact (so much so that you can often get around easier on foot than you can by car) there are numerous facilities around for guys looking for fun. Unlike Japan and South Korea, the scene in Macau is totally open to foreign visitors and there’s no real barrier for those who don’t speak the local language (unfortunately there appears to still be some prejudice on the basis of skin color though). Here’s a rundown of what’s out there.

Saunas – These are the cream of the crop, offering everything from showers with a bit of oral from 19 year old beauties to ear cleanings, dick and ball massages, and of course full service fun with beautiful women from around the world. You spend as much time as you’d like in these places, and it’s quite normal to take in some sleep with a heaping helping of the free food and drink on offer. Rates vary depending on the place, the services and the level and origin of the girls a customer chooses but expect to drop the equivalent of between 250 and 500 US dollars for several hours of real fun. As stated I have already reviewed a number of saunas on this website (Emperor Sauna, Familia Nobre, Golden Sauna, Rio Spa, Sanado Health Spa). There are several more that I haven’t yet reported on (18, East, Big Boss, etc.).

Fishbowls – Fishbowls in Macau operate a lot like they do at places like Honey Massage in Pattaya, Thailand. That said, I think the Macau shops tend to be a little better on average. The best place of this sort in Macau in without a doubt Darling 1. It’s moved around a few times recently but it’s worth tracking down. Unlike the saunas the action here is more to the point. Customers walk in, chose one or more of the ladies from the extensive line up of beautiful women (mostly from Vietnam) and then head to a private room where they get bath play followed by full service fun. Another fishbowl is Darling 2, which is good but not as great as number 1.

Casino girls – There are many working women in Macau who prowl the casinos in search of customers. These gals are usually Chinese and they usually prefer Chinese and other Asian customers. The “race track” at the Lisboa (so-called because the women keep walking in a circle to avoid problems with security) is the most famous area for this sort of action. Beware that the rates are high and the service is mediocre. For many punters who are not Asian none of this will matter though since it’ll be inaccessible to them anyway.

Freelance girls – A number of freelance working women can be found in bars and discos around Macau. They range in nationality though I’ve run into a good number of Filipinas, Vietnamese and Indonesians. Some work at saunas and are just looking for some fun or extra money on the side. Others specialize in this sort of action. In my opinion rates are too high considering everything else that is so easily available. If you’re interested in an overnight or even just a little fun with a lady of this type it’s pretty easy to arrange a meeting outside of work with many of the floor service women (masseuses, attendants, etc.) who work in the saunas. Just make sure there is a little chemistry and try to be discreet about it.

Brothels – These are exactly what they sound like. There are a few straight forward point and poke places like this around Macau. Perhaps the well known or most accessible to short-time foreign visitors would be Hou Va, where a short romp with one of the women on staff goes for a lot less than it does at sauna or even a place like Darling 1. These aren’t the hottest women in the world but they definitely aren’t the worst either. This is a good choice for guys who blow their stack on the gaming tables and only have a few bucks left for fun.

Walk ups – These work the same way they do in Hong Kong. You find a place and walk up to the door. If you like the gal inside you can step into the room and make a quick score for a set fee. If you don’t, you can move on to the next place. Websites are the best way to find these places, though the pictures shown online don’t always match up with reality. Sites like 141 Macau are good nonetheless, and they can also put you onto girls who do outcall or work out of hotels.

Escorts – As with almost everywhere else in the world, there are plenty of escorts in Macau for those who prefer to go this route. In this modern world I shouldn’t have to tell you that these women are most easily found online, especially since you’re reading this information on a website.

For my money Macau really comes into its own with the saunas and fishbowls. The other options can be nice but they are sort of run-of-the-mill when it comes to pay for play. I think Macau’s saunas are the best thing going in Macau, but I’m also the kind of guy who eats French food while in France while avoiding things like international fast food chains. For the most part anyway.

Below is a map of many of the men’s entertainment areas in Macau. I can’t take credit for creating it. Those responsible did a very good job and most of the places mentioned here are listed.

How do you get to Macau? There are many options. The easiest is just to fly in directly. Depending on where you are coming from that can also be the cheapest. Another option is to cross over by land from mainland China. Finally, you can take a short ferry ride over from Hong Kong, which despite being one of the easiest places to get laid in the world can’t really compare to Macau when it comes to pay for play action. One positive is that many travel companies sell discounted tickets that include ferry service to and from Macau along with a certificate good for full service in a particular sauna, though there is usually some stipulation such as allowing the management to choose the lady and limiting the other services like thigh massage one can get.

The US government has put Macau on a watch list for “human trafficking.” Do people come to Macau for work? Absolutely. Does some of it involve sex? You better believe it. Why that’s different than going there to work as a card dealer in a casino I guess depends on your perspective. Are people forced into the work? I don’t think so. They are definitely motivated by financial reasons, recruiters and family but I’m sure that’s true of any overseas employment. I’ve talked to dozens of ladies working in saunas and fishbowls in Macau, many times outside of their places of employment and well beyond earshot of their employers. I’ve even become friends with some of them and stayed in contact long after they returned to their home countries. None have ever told me they were forced into anything, even when I brought the subject up. Since “human trafficking” is the favorite buzzword of the movement to criminalize all sex work I take reports like the one out of the State Department with a grain of salt.

Should you travel to Macau? That’s your choice. Tens of millions do each year and most leave with a great experience. As always, I don’t advocate that anyone do anything. I’m just stating the facts and trying to provide a little adult entertainment.

East Sauna is the anchor of the East Start Group which manages a number of properties including the Sanado Health Spa that I reviewed on this website nearly one year ago.

With an easy to find location inside of the Waldo Hotel, East Sauna operates and even looks a lot like Sanado. In fact one could even be forgiven for thinking the two were identical if it wasn’t for a few slight differences.

The entrance involves all the usual aspects of a Macau Sauna. The customer enters a changing area where he disrobes and loads his clothing into a locker. An attendant then gives him a key for that locker which he wears around his wrist for the duration of his visit. The only thing a customer can bring inside is his phone. Money is not allowed. All charges are attached to the number on the wrist band and the bill is settled at the front desk on the way out.

Thankfully, East is a sauna that staffs its locker area with women. You might think that this would be the norm across Macau but unfortunately it’s not, as places like Familia Nobre that are otherwise excellent. The pretty staff of locker attendants and such seem to hail mostly from the Philippines and I think outside appointments could be easily and discreetly arranged with many of them in the right situation.

Once a customer disrobes and puts on a towel they will be led to the shower area where they will chose one of several bikini-clad Vietnamese women to assist them. Don’t imagine the Playboy Mansion here. Most of these women look understandably bored sitting around though they do seem to perk up a bit when it’s time to get busy. After being de-toweled and washed from head to toe the customer will sit down on a fold down plastic seat in the shower stall. The attendant will then take a mouthful of Listerine and perform a short blowjob. After that it’s one final rinse then off to get a robe from one last attendant.

As mentioned, the interior of East looks a lot like Senado, right down to the two rows of chairs. The floor attendants are also similar. There are general attendants in dark clothing that can take food orders and arrange line ups of the available full service women. There are also women in colorful clothes who do various other jobs. One set massages from the waist up and can do things like ear cleaning. Another set can massage from the waist down, including the lovely “thigh massage.”

At East, the thigh massage takes places in a private room with a comfortable leather chair. A twenty-five minute session costs a whopping 438 Patacas ($57 US) but is pure enjoyment. The women that perform this task aren’t the best looking, but they aren’t the worst either. Most are from Vietnam. The only downfall of the thigh massage at East is that the room lacks a television with porn movies ala Familia Nobre.

Other, more basic services are more reasonable and take place on the floor (with the obvious exception of more complicated procedures).

Full service is also on offer from a large staff of women who are also mostly, but not exclusively, from Vietnam. Customers can ask for a line up at any given time to see who is available, or they can wait for one of the regular “showtimes.” The rates for full service are reasonable and in tune with other saunas in the area, with “models” bringing a bit more than their cohorts at 2000 Patacas ($258 US) a go.

One thing that is out of the norm when it comes to most saunas is that full service at East happens in large hotel rooms rather than the smaller purpose-built quarters common nearly everywhere else. These rooms are large and lavish though they lack any kind of wild shower apparatuses. In fact, full service at East tends to come without a shower of any kind. It’s simply up the stairs and into the bed where the fun begins.

All the usual tricks are at play and a generally good session can be expected from practically everyone on staff. Standard service would last an hour but there are no hard and fast rules. It doesn’t seem to be a rushed or mechanical environment.

The free food and drinks at East are good but not great. There is an obvious tilt toward Chinese-style foods but it comes quick and hot and is usually enough to hit the spot. An interesting quirk at East is that the full service women eat their food in the same room as the customers. There’s usually not much socializing going on though as everyone is focused on either the food in front of them or the television on the wall.

If Senado is one of the best saunas in Macau than East Spa Club is right up there with it. As a reliable place with a good level of service and comparatively reasonable rates, I think it’s completely fair to give East Sauna a solid four-and-a-half stars.

In the time that this website has been online I have covered the commercial sex scenes in numerous countries. Early on I posted a back log of posts I had written up over a period of time that allowed me to quickly build up a deep archive. A few months ago a few readers and advertisers made comments about the focus of the site, which they thought was mainly Thailand and Japan. The comments were not necessarily negative but they got me thinking. While I intended to write reports in a certain order I realized that regular and new readers alike enjoyed variety. So now I’ve begun mixing in posts on places that I have not reported on in depth so far. I hope viewers will appreciate the expanded coverage.

The Malioboro Executive Club and Spa in Jakarta, Indonesia, is one of the closest things to a Macau sauna that can be found outside of China. Unlike Macau, the sale of sexual services is officially illegal in Indonesia. One would never be able to tell that however when they see massive adult entertainment complexes on major throughways in the country’s capital (though those unfortunate enough to come across anti-prostitution campaigns like this would surely be aware).

Malioboro is so large in fact that it dwarfs the saunas of Macau. They are housed in large buildings that also contain hotels and casinos. Malioboro takes up the whole building.

Malioboro is easily found on Jalan Gajah Mada in Jakarta and even those incapable of reading a map would be able to find their way there by asking any taxi driver in the city for the place by name.

Although it welcomes people from around the world, the place is most commonly frequented by Indonesians with money to burn. Because of that and a lack of English speaking ability by many of the people on staff foreigners could potentially find Malioboro difficult to navigate. In reality things are very straight forward.

Customers enter Malioboro (which is not to be confused with the Malio Club which is exactly what it sounds like with the addition of some available pay for play action) through a set of glass doors manned by serious looking security guards. Customers have to empty their pockets and pass through a metal detector to get in. Once inside the large lobby they head over to the large front desk to get a numbered wrist band from the women working reception. As with the Macau saunas this number is used to track a punter’s purchases while he is in side. On the way out he returns to the front desk with his wrist band to settle up his tab.

There are several levels in the Malioboro complex. Those looking for sauna services can find them at the back of the ground floor where they’ll be met by male attendants ready to help them prepare. As far as I know nothing sexual happens in the sauna area so those looking for adult fun simply move on. Guys who like a soak certainly enjoy the various implements though which are clean and well maintained.

There’s also a KTV available for those who like to sing and drink with a room full of women for a fee. Readers of this site will know that I’m not a big fan of this set up so I can’t speak much about it.

The most fun at Malioboro happens on the second floor which can be reached by elevator or stairs. Beyond the unattractive Chinese women who hang around in front of the elevators asking punters if they’d like a full body massage for 200,000 Rupiah ($17 US) is a set of doors that leads to a large lounge area.

Inside of this smoke filled lounge area punters will see several stages where very sexy Indonesian women dance in bikinis or nude surrounded by dozens of tables and chairs. This place opens around noon but the action doesn’t really start until at least 3 PM. New visitors will often be attacked by mamasans who want to show them their stable but more experienced customers will simply pick out a seat of their own choosing.

Reasonably priced drinks are available from the attentive staff of uniformed waitstaff that is made up of both men and women. Before a punter has a time to enjoy a beverage though he will likely be approached by one or two young Indonesian women wearing nothing more than panties and a bra. These women work the stages and the floors mainly in search of lady drinks. They will give punters an up close and personal lap dance in exchange for the purchase of a shot that sells for 50,000 Rupiah or roughly $4.25 US dollars. When I say up close and personal I mean it. They will take their bras off and push their tits and nipples into the guy’s face while grinding hard on his body.

Inexperienced guys can get swamped with drink request after drink request which makes the bill quickly stack up, especially when shots are being purchased for two or more women at once. I’ve heard reports of Western guys spending an hour on the floor only to find a bill of more than 100 US waiting for them downstairs. This is easy to avoid by guys who can keep their wits and its nothing like the scam shows of Patpong in Bangkok that hit people with charges of $100 for a single drink so I don’t think it’s a huge negative.

Done right the lap dance for lady drinks program can actually be a lot of fun. Guys in the know can lay back with a gal or two and get some great entertainment out of it. Some Asian guys with lots of cash to burn can be seen hanging around for hours drinking with nude nubile babes under each arm. The women are universally hot with some of the best bodies to be found in any similar place around the world. Unlike the go go bars of Thailand and the Philippines, dancers with a lot of sag or love handles are nowhere to be found dancing at Malioboro.

Some of the bikini clad bar babes can be taken upstairs for a romp but not all of them are interested in it. Some may only be interested at certain points or with certain people. If they do agree to it the cost is 1,500,000 Rupiah ($128 US) or more. Prices are given before hand and punters have to sign off on a piece of paper with their wrist band number before anything can happen.

Beyond the luscious lady drink lasses sit dozens of ladies from around the world who do nothing but wait for a punter to pick them out. These women who come from places like China, Thailand, Uzbekistan and Russia, along with local ladies from Indonesia, are mainly there for those looking for full service. They are separated into groups that are managed by different mamasans (or in some cases papasans). If a guy sees a gal he likes on the floor he can ask her to join him, otherwise he will have to ask each manager to see their lineup until he finds someone he is interested in. Once selected the gals will usually sit with the punter while the manager writes down the price on a piece of paper. Guys who agree with the price which ranges from 350,000 to 2 million Rupiah ($30-172 US) will sign off on the paper before being guided outside and up a floor or two to one of the large massage rooms. On the way a stop will be made at reception where the gal will get the room key and purchase a prophylactic.

The full service ladies at Malioboro range in looks but most are relatively attractive. Only a few look as good as the local dancers in my opinion but things change all the time and one guy’s trash is another man’s treasure. One thing is for sure, none of the women at Malioboro from the front desk reception on up could be called unattractive by anyone with functioning eyes.

The rooms are roomy and clean with separate shower areas and large beds but they are nothing spectacular. Since most guys could probably care less about the temporary quarters I won’t make any more mention of that. More interesting to many would be the male and female attendants that walk the halls between the room who seem to be quite eager to cheer on customers who pass by, sometimes even giving positive comments on their choice along with high fives.

The level of service varies with the service provider. That’s the case almost anywhere in the world, with the exception of establishments like the Macau saunas where the women seem to be given lessons in how to provide a great session. I doubt anyone would throw a lady out of bed at Malioboro but they shouldn’t expect a PSE from every women on staff either. That’s seems to be especially true of some of the local ladies who go for lower rates as they seem to be more modest than man-eater for the most part. There doesn’t seem to be any set policy on rubbers either. Some use them for everything from start to finish while others reserve them only for full service.

Sessions are supposed to be sold in 90 minute blocks but as with most places that’s rarely realized. Once a guy gets off the sessions usually draws to a close. There is no rush or clock watching but unless a lady especially likes a lad they don’t usually hang around for long periods after the fun has ended.

Once a session concludes the punter is led back to the second floor where they can chose between lounging around, trying out more services or heading out the door.

Settling the tab is as easy as heading back to the reception desk on the ground floor. There is an entrance fee of something like 150,000 Rupiah at Malioboro but it is usually waved for guys who partake in at least one full service sessions. A few hours of fun with a big bang to conclude usually ends up at 2 or 3 million Rupiah. This is pretty reasonable considering what’s on offer. Once payment is rendered the customer is given an article that proves they paid up. They hand this over to the security guards on the way out.

As a well maintained men’s entertainment establishment with a wide variety of women on staff ready to meet almost any need Malioboro stands out not only in Indonesia but in the world as a whole. It’s potentially possible for unwitting punters to run into more charges than they’d like or even to have trouble finding their way at all but this is more their fault than the venue’s. It’s a straight forward place. Locals with cash head to there for a reason. I think it’s fair to give the place a solid four stars. I would probably give it a half star or more if all of the ladies could be viewed in a single line up, and if those ladies were on average a little better looking. As it stands it’s still an amazing place.

Way back in March I wrote a review of Rio Spa in Macau. In that review I said that Rio Spa is one of the most well known saunas in Macau. That is certainly true. Today I’ll review Eighteen Sauna, another one of the most well known establishments in the Special Administrative Region.

Eighteen Sauna (also occasionally listed as “18 Sauna”) is located on the sixth floor of the Golden Dragon Hotel. The place is as easy to find as walking into the hotel and entering the elevator which is adorned with pictures of scantly clad Asian models advertising the sauna.

Once on the sixth floor things go pretty much the same way they do at any other sauna in Macau. Regular readers will know the protocol by now. The customer heads to the locker room and undresses while an attendant gives him a wrist band with a number on it to track purchases. The punter then heads in to the wet area where he can either shower himself or have one of the scantly clad Vietnamese attendants do it for him (though only if he’s not shy since the staffed showers are right out in the open). This soap up involves a bit of a jacking but doesn’t lead to anything else. After the shower the punter heads into the main lounge area where he he chooses a chair and sits down.

The lounge is much like the others around town too. It isn’t incredibly large or terribly small. It just is. At this point you may start to wonder why Eighteen is so well known. I sort of wonder the same thing and I don’t really have any answer. I can only guess that perhaps Eighteen has a great public relations team even though I found out about the place through word of mouth.

Eighteen Sauna has all the usual floor attendants. The women who provide services “from the waist up” (in their words) wear sexy short skirts but tend to be on the older side. The women who do foot massages and things like pedicures are mostly middle-aged Vietnamese gals who don’t appear to have received any professional training at all. The women who do the special “inner thigh massages” which take place under a big towel right on the main floor are mostly average looking women from Vietnam in their 20’s or early 30’s. The rates for all of these services tend to be higher than they are at most other saunas and the time limits appear to be shorter too. Worst of all these attendants and the floor attendants who get towels, free food and drinks and otherwise are meant to help customers are amongst the most unfriendly at any similar establishment in the city. There are always exceptions and bright spots but for the purposes of a review like this the overall view is what matters most.

Certainly the best aspect of 18 is the team of full service ladies. There are always plenty of gals on staff. Most of the women come from mainland China but a few other countries are also represented.

The vast majority of the full service women could be described as beautiful. That’s especially true for the Chinese ladies. Lineups happen fairly regularly with some of the women even giving punters a glimpse of the goods. Customers are under no obligation to chose a service provider until they are ready and some customers will view a few lineups before making a selection.

Once a punter chooses a gal she will guide him to one of the rooms. While the quarters aren’t all that important they are something that needs to be considered. Most all saunas have very nice rooms with many being specially designed for the purpose.

At Eighteen Sauna the standard room leaves a lot to be desired. It’s small and cramped, the sheets look like they’ve seen better days and the towels are obviously worn to the point of having holes in them. This is simply unacceptable in a sauna like this. Much lesser priced saunas are able to keep bright new linens in stock without issue.

What about the price? At Eighteen the price for a standard round of full service is 2500 HKD ($323 US) which is on the high end of the spectrum. What’s worse is the way they nickle and dime the customer, going as far as to charge 140 HKD ($18 US) for a condom. Customers have no choice but to give in to this extortion since it’s impossible for them to bring in their own condoms and unprotected activity is simply out of the question.

The level of service is on average good. While many of the women who work the full service gig at Eighteen are very beautiful and some are quite friendly, there’s nothing going on in the sauna that justifies the higher prices and little add on items that are thrown in.

Once things are done the punter is taken back to the lounge where the woman bids him farewell (at least until the next line up). He can either lay around some more, take up some other services (like a mediocre full body scrub) or head back to the locker rooms to get dressed and settle his bill.

In my learned opinion Eighteen Sauna is one of the worst saunas in all of Macau. The actual establishment is just okay, the prices are relatively high and the management seems unconcerned with the enjoyment of the customers. Little annoyances like charging extra for a rubber and lacking free wireless internet only make things worse. If Eighteen Sauna was located in some city where it was the only establishment of its kind I would possibly score it much higher. Since it’s located in walking distance of so many excellent venues like Famile Nobre and Emperor that provide more for less money I’m giving it a star-and-a-half.

Officially the sale of adult services of any kind are illegal in Indonesia. As with Thailand it’s clear to see a totally different reality on the ground with the practice being widely tolerated or even embraced.

Like the previously reviewed Malioboro, the Alexis Hotel is a huge and obvious complex that countless thousands of people in Jakarta are aware of. Those who don’t know can be filled in by a quick Google search. Besides a few mentions on various sites the official website of Alexis boldly describes itself as an “adult one stop entertainment hotel. Known as the dreamland for men.”

Alexis is easy to find. Every taxi driver that has even a reasonable grasp of the mass of streets in the city can navigate to its front doors, which are behind a toll gate just off a main road in North Jakarta. New visitors may be surprised to see this large purpose built building but regulars know it’s only one of many.

The Alexis Hotel complex houses many various departments. The ground floor houses a club appropriately named “4Play.” While this may draw some civilian women at times it’s many filled with working girls who are looking for customers to take to a room upstairs. Women from all over the world are represented with plenty hailing from Eastern Europe and Central Asia. There are also sexy dancers on stage in various stages of undress and even simulated lesbian shows occasionally. Drinks are more expensive than they would be at a regular bar but they are still reasonable compared to mainstream clubs or similar establishments in other countries.

The fifth floor of Alexis houses an extravagant XiS Karaoke KTV setup that fans of drinking and off key singing with pretty women are sure to appreciate. Regular readers of this site know that I’ve never been big on the karaoke scene even though it’s often tied to adult entertainment in Asia. Because of that I can’t say much about this area other than it looks very nice.

The most famous and interesting section of the Alexis Hotel is undoubtedly the BathHouse Gentlemen Spa on the seventh floor. This place is something like a smaller version of a Macau Sauna with a local flare.

Customers who enter the Alexis Hotel will find themselves in a large lobby that looks like it belongs in a nice casino hotel. There’s a front desk but there’s no need to stop there unless one has a special request. Customers can simply walk along the path to the right and follow it to the elevators where they can be transported to their destination.

Exiting the lift on the seventh floor brings one to the lobby of the bath house. Here one picks up a numbered wrist band to track their transactions. An entrance fee of 150,000 Rupiah ($13 US) is the first charge they’ll get, though seems to be waved for customers who choose a lady inside.

And what about that inside? The main section is a long smokey lounge decorated in red and black that probably looks as much like a modern brothel as someone could imagine. As I said it’s smaller than a Macau sauna but it’s not too far off of a place like East Sauna in terms of size.

When customers enter they’ll be greeted by one of the many Indonesian mamasans on the floor. These women are usually in their 30’s, well dressed in miniskirts and with a few exceptions surprisingly good looking. Unlike places like the Classic Hotel where each mama has their own team of girls that they try to steer customers to, the mamas at the Alexis bathhouse represent the entire establishment and could care less who a customer goes with.

Whichever mamasan the customer draws will hand them a business card with their name and some kind of title like “entertainment manager.” On the back of that they’ll write two prices. The 1,375,000 Rupiah ($117 US) price is the rate for local gals and the 2,375,000 Rupiah ($202 US) price is the rate for women from other countries like Russia, Uzbekistan, China, Thailand and even Colombia.

While everyone is treated generally well there is not the same level of catering every need that one would see in a Macau establishment. The bathhouse gets crowded many evenings. Return customers who know the mamas and spend a lot of money are usually steered to nice cushioned booths where they can drink and have a good time. New guys are often left sitting on stools at small bars in the middle of the floor or thrown together with other single travelers in a shared booth. This is to be expected to some extent but it is worth mentioning.

The women who work at the bathhouse sit in different sections depending on their nationality. The most numerous are the Indonesian women who sit on a long row of couches facing the floor. The Chinese women sit together in an area on the floor. The Russian-speaking women sit in a corner in the back. The Thai women sit in a corner opposite to them.

The women will often move around for lineups or come in and out of the bathroom or a session. This allows punters to get a bit of a look. When a customer is ready to make a choice he summons his mama and tells her. She will ask which lineup he’d like to see or even make recommendations. He can ask to see a certain group of women or every single one. Interestingly the mamas inform customers who don’t hail from Southeast Asia, China, South Korea or Japan that some of the Indonesian women will not go with them because they cannot accommodate their size. While this is a big step up from places in Japan and South Korea that ban foreigners outright it’s also absurd. If one sits in the lounge long enough they’ll notice that some women who didn’t come to the lineup for one Western customers will come to the lineup for another. This shows that the Indonesian ladies on staff are free to choose which customers they’re interest in and which customers they aren’t. Rather than tell the customer that or let them figure it out on their own the management has instead decided to hide the refusal in a quasi complimentary fashion.

There are dozens of women on staff at the bathhouse in the afternoon and evenings. The Indonesians are the best represented and tend to be in their early twenties. Dressed in silky red and black outfits that match the surroundings some are quite beautiful. Others are average but very few could be called unattractive by any man with eyes. The Chinese women are the next largest group. They are mostly average in looks with a few exceptions. The Thai and Russian-speaking groups are the smallest and the women are free to wear whatever sexy outfit they’d like. In my opinion these are generally not the most attractive women though occasionally a real stunner can be seen.

Once a customer chooses a lady she will go to retrieve her bag of goods. When she returns she’ll lead him to a staircase. If the customer would like the lady will put on a bikini and join him in a very nicely appointed and very clean wet room that contains three multicolored swimming pools. A half hour will be spent in the pool playing around though nothing serious can go down there. Customers who aren’t interested in the pools don’t have to change into the provided swimwear and can instead stay in their regular street clothes.

After the pool option comes the main event. Customers are taken to one of several dozen rooms for the fun. Some of the basic rooms fill up when the place gets busy and customers may be told they either have to shell out a little more for a larger VIP room or wait.

The rooms at the Alexis bathhouse are among the nicest of any facility of this nature in Indonesia. They also compare well to similar places in other countries. They are spacious with large beds and shower areas. They also have strategically placed mirrors that add to the excitement.

The normal procedure of a mutual shower followed by a trip to the bed is followed as it is nearly anywhere else. Service depends on the lady but all the standards can be expected. The norm is for every aspect to be covered for safety but sometimes exceptions are made.

Sessions last long enough for any healthy red blooded male and there is no rush. After the real fun finishes it’s fine to lounge around for a while and talk or take in a massage. Surprisingly some of the women are quite good at that.

Once the session is brought to a close by a phone call the punter and the service provider clean up, dress and head back upstairs to the lounge where there love affair ends.

Customers can hang around the lounge area as long as they’d like. Drinks are available but they aren’t free. Prices are about what one would expect. Several rounds are possible and some guys seem to live in the place but outside of what I just mentioned there isn’t a whole lot to do.

Once a customer has had his fill he heads back to the front desk to settle his tab. After paying in full he’ll be given a slip that indicates that he did in fact pay what he owes. He’ll hand this slip to one of the security guards at the elevators and then head on his way.

The Alexis Hotel is a large complex with a lot of adult entertainment on offer. It’s run in a professional manner and there’s very little worry involved for anyone who steps foot inside. With the addition of a wide range of women hailing from all over the world the place is one of the better establishments to be found. The rooms are even kept lemon fresh! I give it a solid four stars.

Caesarworld Sauna (亞太三溫暖) sometimes referred by foreigners familiar with the place as simply Ceasar’s is a men’s sauna located in Taipei, the capital city of Taiwan. Ceasarworld has been around for sometime. Even though it is located inside a major shopping center it has remained under the radar with the possible exception of the time it made the news for catching on fire.

Caesar’s is located on the fifteenth floor of the Momo department store on Nanjing East Road in the Songshan District. Even though it has a sign prominently displayed at a major intersection it isn’t the easiest place to find in the world.

There are two ways to reach the sauna. One is to head inside the shopping center through one of the doors at the corner of Nanjing East and Dunhua North then wander around the numerous walkways and cosmetic counters until reaching the elevators. The other way is to walk past the Starbucks and into the courtyard and then turn left and go through the glass doors which lead to the same elevators. Once inside the elevators access is as easy as pressing the button that says 15 in big clear characters.

Exiting the elevator brings one to the entrance of the sauna which like the place itself has probably seen better days. Just outside of the lifts there is a series of pools that look neglected. Beyond those one can find the front desk where a few middle aged women who look like they’d rather be somewhere else are stationed. Customers stop at this desk to get a numbered arm band just as they do in the saunas of Macau and the adult entertainment complexes of Jakarta. Unfortunately this place isn’t nearly as exiting as those.

Once customers get their armband they walk behind the front desk and to a set of seats where they take off their shoes and hand them to a special shoe attendant. He will clean and shine their shoes while they are inside unless they specifically ask him not to.

After that they will keep walking into a seemingly endless array of wooden lockers. Each customer must find the locker that matches the number on their wrist. This isn’t too difficult since they are all in order though a double lock system means that the male attendant must be called over to stick in his key to securely lock things inside. There is only one attendant but he isn’t usually very busy since there aren’t that many customers and he doesn’t help fold and put away clothes like his counterparts in Macau and other parts of Asia. Unlike virtually every similar place in Asia there are no slippers given here either so customers spend their time walking around barefoot.

After stripping down and shutting everything but their wrist band inside of their lockers customers walk shoeless and nude into the entrance of the spa facilities. Inside they’ll find several large pools, a steam room and some other facilities like a large sink with all the accessories. They’ll also find several large round fixtures almost at ground level with shower heads on hoses. These stations are where guys who enter the place wash off before using any of the other facilities. Although they are a bit dated there’s an endless supply of strong hot water along with lots of soap and shampoo. Those who do not want to be scorned or worse make good use of these stations which look a hell of a lot like those in the onsens of Japan. Although the vast majority of the customers are locals little attention seems to be given to foreigners who find their way inside even when they are hunched over and washing their family jewels off in front of everyone.

Customers are under no obligation to take a steam or dip into any of the numerous pools but those facilities are there and free to use if they’re interested. Things are a little old but generally seem to be kept up well. When they’re ready to move on customers can move to the station at the back and to the left where they can find a towel to dry off and a pair of patterned shorts and a robe to slip into.

Caesar’s is a bit like a maze and things can be difficult to find for the first or even second timer but a few paces around reveals more and more. Some things remain hidden to all but those who need to find them as I’ll describe later.

After toweling off and putting on a robe customers can walk down one of the carpeted hallways past a row of rooms with open doors where guys perform strong body massages that I have no interest in until they find themselves in the lounge which is quite fittingly called “the restaurant.” This area is large and nice enough though it looks like a hotel or department store cafe straight out of the 1970’s or maybe an Atlantic City casino circa last year. The space is filled with a long bar, numerous marbled tables and comfortable upholstered seats. At any given time a large number of tables will be filled by guys watching television, reading a newspaper or playing a game. The strangest thing about the place is that the managers and waiters walk around barefoot even though they are wearing trousers and buttoned shirts with collars. These waiters will bring a cup of hot tea to those who enter. Some mediocre food is also available but it has to be paid for. Most customers seem to avoid it which probably says more than I can.

Customers looking for special services may at this point wonder what to do. There are no line ups or massage girls walking around unlike other saunas. Luckily they will probably be approached by a middle aged or older female manager who appears from nowhere just around the time these thoughts start to enter their heads. If they sit near the stairs in the back they may be approached even sooner.

Customers who agree to the offer of a “special massage” for 4200 Taiwan Dollars ($137 USD) will be guided through a procedure that looks like something out of the intro to Get Smart before being led down a hall that often echoes with sounds of ecstasy and into a large, dark private room with a massage table and a full shower in the corner.  Although the floors are carpeted there is no foul smell. This is probably due to the engineering which raised the floor of the room and lowered the floor of the shower, which definitely worked even if it has led to untold numbers of trips and stubbed toes.

There’s no line up so the service providers available appear one after another until the customer selects one of his liking. If I had to guess I would say that many probably accept the first to appear or make a request to the manager in advance if they’re interested in a certain look. The staff is made up of Taiwanese women who are mostly into middle age though they manage to keep themselves together much more than most women of the same age in a lot of other countries. One is reminded of Ange Venus. The combination of cosmetics and a lack of light can do wonders. Acting youthfully and putting a bit of the old kawaii Japanese adult video style charm also helps.

Most of the masseuses can speak a bit of English but it’s doubtful that any can discuss Moby Dick in depth. They are also fairly skilled in the art of massage which isn’t always the case in places like these. The skills are even better when it comes to the special services that involve full service with a lot of extras. In any outfit masseuses all have their own ways of doing things but there does seem to be some sort of standard that includes high quality hot oil. English music plays in the background and this is even sometimes accompanied by a little rusty trombone.

Once the massage is finished up the customer can clean up in the full sized shower before being toweled off. After slipping into the house robe and shorts he is guided back through the fun house and into the restaurant where he can either enjoy more tea or attempt to find his way out. A hallway with a finishing room at one end where customers can drop their robe and shorts, do their hair and stare into a large vanity mirror leads back to the wooden lockers where things can be retrieved once the attendants is called over to wield his mighty key in unison with the fold out key that is hidden inside the numbered wrist band.

Once the customer gets dressed back into his street clothes he stops at the shoe attendant to get his kicks before visiting the front desk to hand over his number and settle up his tab. Customers who have a massage are not charged any extra for the use of the sauna facilities unless of course they order food. Those who enter but don’t go for a massage have to pay some small fee though it is really inconsequential.

Caesarworld Sauna is an alright if aging men’s spa that offers some extras that aren’t always easy to track down in Taiwan. Although it’s not the best place in the world nor home to any supermodels it does offer some respite from the city. Taking the location into consideration I think the place deserves three stars.

There are certainly worse places to lounge around.

Mainhattan is one of the most well known and easy to find of all the sex saunas in Germany. FKK is a common acronym in German speaking countries for the phrase Freikörperkultur. This translates to “free body culture” and has roots going far back in history. In the context of the commercial sex industry it is used to describe sex shops loosely based on a nudist club model that helps limit the responsibility of owners.

Prostitution is totally legal in Germany and laws have been written to try to turn it into a regular profession but issues still remain that many would simply like to avoid. At the FKKs working women pay a set fee to enter the club for the day. Men pay another fee to enter. They can then make deals between themselves for sex. The owner makes money from everyone who comes to the club without actually employing any sex workers directly. Only the management, security, and service staff are the payroll. This has worked well for years and become a sort of universal model. Prices may vary from one place to the next but the women in each particular establishment tend to charge the same money for the same services. Mainhattan is no exception.

Unlike some other clubs located out of town Mainhattan is located in Frankfurt proper. While some may take light rail tram #11 to Daimlerstrabe Station and others may even walk I imagine most customers reach the place by taxi. It is so well known in the city that most cab drivers know exactly where it is located without researching the address. Passengers just say “Mainhattan sauna please.” The place is even advertised openly in the city which can be a bit of a surprise when coming from countries where sex work is forced into the shadows.

The club almost looks like some sort of workshop from outside. You might imagine some sort of plastic piping was being made inside if you didn’t see the large sign out front. Customers simply walk right in through the glass doors and to the front counter to enter. Taxi drivers often follow right behind to do some sort of business with the place though it in no way increases the prices for customers. Nude and semi nude women can often be seen hanging around the entrance which may surprise new guys even more than the open advertising found around town.

The front desk worker and most everyone else in this and every other FKK can speak at least passable English. If a customer is visiting for the first time the way things work will quickly be explained. Those who already know the routine can simply hand over the entrance fee and get on with it. There is an ATM machine in the front lobby but it charges the kind of ridiculous fees that would make any strip club owner feel right at home so preparation minded men bring their money in from somewhere else before coming.

It costs 45 Euro ($51 USD) to enter the club. There is an additional 5 Euro charge for use of a bathrobe even though this included free in every other FKK sauna I know of. Those who don’t pay extra for the bathrobe have to make due with a large towel.

Once the customer pays the entrance fee they are given a wrist band with a number and a key similar to those used at Macau saunas. They also receive another paper wrist band which shows that they paid to get in. They then go into the changing room immediately in front of the front desk and find the locker that matches their number. They use the key to open it and change out of their street clothes and into the provided bathrobe or towel. All valuables including money must also be locked away along with cell phones which are not allowed in the club.

After changing and slipping on the provided rubber flip flops customers are free to roam around. There are showers off to the right and customers are expected to use them when they first arrive and between any sex sessions. No one hangs around checking on people to make sure they actually shower but it is the basic protocol and a way for people to show respect for everyone else around them. The showers are open in typical locker room style but everyone minds their own business so it is not a big deal.

There is a hallway off to the back of the changing room that leads through a nice little courtyard to a dining area and a movie theater. The dining area contains snacks and drinks at all times. More complete meals are served at set times. There is no extra cost for any of this. The movie theater plays porn movies of various quality on repeat. There are large mattresses set up where people have semi-public fun but this area doesn’t get as much traffic as it does in some other similar clubs. The theater is usually empty or only has one or two people in it at any given time.

Leaving the locker room and turning right at the front desk leads into the main lounge. This large room looks like something out of a California porn set or a mansion from a decade or two ago. That’s not to say it’s worn. It just has that sex club kind of vibe to it. The room is clean and contains several couches and chairs where people can sit along with a huge bar where staff serve drinks to customers and women alike. There are televisions playing sports and mainstream shows along with a television near the bar that plays porn. At the back there is a glass walled smoking room which is great considering how polluted the many smoke filled FKKs around Europe can get. Walking through the lounge one finds a bathroom, a massage room, private rooms a sauna and a pool. Customers have free run of the place and are free to go anywhere except the private rooms or the massage rooms. A fee has to be paid to get a professional massage from one of the body builder type female masseuses that work the place and the private rooms are meant for rendezvous with the working women. Guys can and do hang around the lounge and it is not uncommon to see some having a nap either. Pumping away all day can be a lot of work! The sauna and the pool are obviously used in the nude since clothes aren’t allowed inside.

I haven’t said much about the women yet. They are probably the first thing a person would notice upon entering the club but since there are women in every FKK it make sense to explain the set up of this particular place in some detail. Reviews don’t have much value if they say nothing more than “here be women.” It is also a fact that the women working at Mainhattan or any other similar place can change from one day to the next. That is the nature of the business especially when women work for themselves rather than someone else. The best I can do is try to paint a general picture. The photo gallery on the Mainhattan website gives a good idea of what the women at the club look like but this may be a case where words can say more than a few generic pictures.

During the day there are usually a dozen or more women at the club. Sometimes there are two dozen or even more. The evenings and nights see the most women but typically the most customers too. While men in FKK clubs usually wear a bathrobe or very occasionally a towel the women tend to be naked or semi-clothed. This is by design and meant to remove the possibility of men being shocked in a private room by a woman dropping her dress and looking totally different than expected in the nude. The women at Mainhattan are more covered than the women in most other FKKs in Germany but in my opinion it doesn’t take away much since they tend to wear things like very sexy lingerie and stockings which accent more than hide their bodies. The women do appear fully nude when walking back from a private room after a session to collect their payment. They then clean up and put their kits back on.

The women who work at Mainhattan tend to come from Europe which makes sense since those in the EU have permission to work while others would have to go through all sorts of immigration procedures. Romanian and Moldovian women are the most common but lots of other countries are represented too. For whatever reason there are often many Spanish women working this club even though they aren’t so common in other FKKs around the country. Women have to show a card that says they were recently checked for disease to work on any given day though I’m not totally sure as to the specifics. Tests are great but they are no guarantee of anything especially for people with multiple sex partners.

Most of the women at Mainhattan are generally attractive. There are a few who aren’t that good looking but no one elderly or obese. There are also several very good looking women and often even some total knockouts. It is not uncommon for there to be one or two women who most men would consider near perfect on a weekday at two in the afternoon which speaks to the quality possible. Ages vary a bit but the most common range is twenty one to thirty five. Women who are over thirty usually don’t admit that but it can be quite obvious. Most of the women have nice or even great bodies. Faces have more variation and it is clear that some have lived hard by looking at the lines on their faces even when their frames are still in pretty good shape. There are some silicone enhanced bodies but most are natural. Few is any women show visible signs of child birth.

Customers can sit anywhere they like and women can too. Since the women are near nude they have to sit on a towel. The women provide the rubbers and they all charge the same fee of 50 Euros ($57 USD) for thirty minutes. The fee doesn’t include extras. Not every woman will do every extra with every guy. It is up to them. All a guy can do is ask. Things like cumming in mouth cost an extra 50 Euros. Some charge an extra 50 for taking a load on their face or body. Anal always costs an extra 100 Euros for those who will do it. If the menu sort of system may sound a little cold that’s because it is but things could be worse. The use of a private room is free with any session and that’s the most common place to go at it. The rooms are large and clean with big beds and fresh sheets. Performance depends on any number of things and the phrase “your mileage may vary” applies well though most of the women are quite capable and do seem to want to get the guys who take them off. Clock watching isn’t very common and any attempts at cheating people are pretty rare too.

After a guy finishes a session with a gal or gals he walks back to his locker to retrieve money to pay. The women take the money and run off to tuck it away with their belongings. Some have change and others don’t but the front counter can always break money. Veterans usually show up with enough 50 Euro notes to avoid any hassles.

Mainhattan is clean, relatively safe, easy to find. Prices are reasonable, attractive women are always available and it is a pretty good representation of what a German FKK sauna is like. That’s why I chose to review it before any other similar places and it is also why I think the place deserves an above average score of 3.5 stars. Some may read this review and wonder how a place could score any higher. Since Rockit Reports went online years ago reporting on the commercial sex scene in China has been limited to the Special Administrative Regions of Macau and Hong Kong. In both of those place prostitution is legal at least to some degree.

While I have had some information on mainland China for years I have not reported on it here. One reason was that things can change from one day to the next and I am not well informed on the happenings there.

The main reason though was a fear that any reporting done on this website could contribute to repression against the women working in the industry since the sale of sex and related services remain illegal in China.

It’s difficult to know whether or not my fears were reasonable but the fact that the once vibrant and extensive sauna scene in southern China was decimated by raids not long ago shows what is possible. I don’t know know if the powers that be would be more likely to come down on a place reported on in the English language but it seems like a real possibility.

Another thing to consider is the possibility of a block being put on Rockit Reports from certain areas if someone with power doesn’t like what’s written here. Although the Rockit Reports site has been censored in South Korea it remains accessible in mainland China even though the world’s largest search engine is not.

In any event there are plenty of English language sources reporting on adult entertainment venues in China today. The most popular seem to be discussion forums including some based in places like Singapore and Hong Kong but there are even some full websites that not only list

Since these websites have been around for a while with plenty of interaction it seems that it would be okay to at least report on some of the more public places that openly advertise their services. Today I begin my reporting on China with a review of the Red House Sauna in Shanghai.

Showing that even large establishments with solid history must deal with the threat of repression customers are supposed to contact the manager of the place through the popular WeChat smartphone application to get directions to the place and instructions to enter.

The manager replies to requests over WeChat with information in English along with accompanying photographs though the information is also available online for those who care to search it out.

Red House Sauna is located inside of a large commercial building at 333 Zhaojiabing Road which is at the intersection with Xiaomuqiao Road. A small blue sign on the exterior wall marks the building which contains a bank on the side of Xiaomuqiao Road and a main entrance on the Zhaojiabing Road side.

The management at Red House seems to prefer that foreigners send a message before coming to schedule a loose appointment time though they do accept people who just show up as well. Asking for advance notice may seem strange but it makes sense for all parties involved as the club operates in the margins. In December it closed for a few days apparently after receiving a warning through the grapevine that it might receive a visit from some unwanted guests.

Whether or not customers send a message before showing up they must still seek out entrance when they arrive at the building. For foreigners this means approaching the plainly clothed security guard who hangs around in the lobby and saying “sauna” or “Jimmy” which is supposedly the name of an English speaking manager but more likely a sort of code word that all staff members understand.

Once the security guard is notified he will call to the management on a walkie talkie and say “Jimmy” along with some other things in Chinese. He will also point out the door which leads to the entrance of Red House Sauna.

Customers who pass through these doors are confronted with a white stairway that looks like something out of a horror movie with walls marked with what one hopes is smeared red paint. This stairway leads to a grey metal door with a very small sign. Next to the door is a bell but the management usually has the door open before the customer even arrives thanks to the notification given by the security guard in the lobby.

Foreign customers who enter are greeted by a manager who asks if the can speak Chinese. If the answer is no the managers rely on a translation application in their phone to communicate.

Entering the actual facilities requires following the manager through some halls into a locker room that looks a lot like a run down version of the changing rooms at Macau saunas. Customers put their clothes and other possessions other than a phone into a locker and given a pair of short shorts and a big shirt to wear that in my opinion is better than the robes given at better places since it doesn’t have to be tied. Customers are also given a pair of blue slippers and a wrist band that holds the key to their lockers and numbers that allow the sauna to track their purchases.

After putting on the sauna gear customers are asked if they have booked a specific lady before visiting. Red House maintains pictures and lists of women on staff so that customers can book appointments ahead. Some women are apparently so busy that customers who do not book them in advance will never even know they exist.

Customers who book ahead are taken to a private room where their lady of the hour will meet them. Other are led by a manager through a series of elaborately twisting hallways past countless young Chinese guys in black Adidas training jackets to a main display room where the various women working at the place assemble to great customers. Most customers at Red House are Chinese but surprisingly they seem to pay little attention to foreign customers. Additionally the hallway traffic is well managed so that customers rarely cross paths.

The display room at Red House Sauna looks like a miniature disco. The long room is lined with mirrors and has a slightly elevated floor. The women form a “U” shape around the walls of the room with very large signs pinned to their clothes indicating their identification numbers and classification.

The number of women working at Red House at any given time is pretty amazing even considering that Shanghai is such a large city. The line up usually consists of at least three dozen women and sometimes even more. The women who hail from all over China and in some cases the world are mostly attractive with a few extreme beauties and some who would be on the lower end of most scales. They wear sexy dresses or lingerie depending on their classification and all have their hair and makeup done up.

During any line up a few of the women will smile and a few will look indifferent but all seem open and willing even for foreign customers. Ultimately the name of the game is making money and all the ladies who work at Red House appear to be totally up for it.

The line up is so long that it can be difficult to customers to get a good look at all the women. While there are no binoculars on hand as is the case at Darling 1 in Macau customers are invited to enter the room and inspect the women up close though it’s easy to see how that could be a little awkward or uncomfortable even for a hardened veteran of the sex industry.

After a customer selects a lady by approaching her and asking for her hand she will lead him to one of many private rooms that look like worn down versions of the quarters at Emperor in Macau. Each room has a small bed covered in red pleather and a shower room with a similar bed. There are also small televisions in each room but these are rarely put to use.

Because the beds in the shower rooms have gathered some black mold spots with use they are covered with clear plastic sheeting which shows some concern for customer well being even though replacing the beds would obviously be a better choice.

The routines in the private rooms are pretty much as they are in any similar establishment in Asia though there is always some level of variation between individual providers. Typically the customer disrobes and relaxes on the bed while the lady prepares the room and shower. The customer then lays on the shower bed where he is washed from and back. That is followed by a body to body nuru style* massage with the woman sliding her soaped up nude body against the customer’s front and back. All parts of the body are cleaned including the most intimate of areas including the anus which is understandable considering the activities that follow.

After showering and sliding around the customer is rinsed and dried then sent to the bed again to wait while the provider cleans herself off. When the provider comes to the bed she performs a perfunctory massage on the customer then puts him on all fours and licks his crack before turning him over for some bare oral action followed by a covered full service finish.

While all women are different there do seem to be some trends at Red House that differ from other places. One example is that providers at the sauna tend to clean intimate areas of customers with a mix of soap and minty toothpaste. Another practice is to spray down the most intimate areas of customers with some sort of cleaner that is hopefully not Windex before giving them a little tongue service. Most also do the hot and cold water oral routine though that can also be found in other Chinese saunas throughout Asia.

There is always some degree of mechanical performance in any place where women see multiple customers and go through the same routine each time though the gals on staff at Red House seem to put in real effort. Some put on performances that could please the pickiest of guys. None seem to be miserable or unhappy with their work and most have a positive attitude and see their work as a stepping stone toward something else.

After finishing with full service customers can spend the remainder of their time hanging around with their provider. Lounging around or chatting at normal practices during that down time. Those who hope to rely on translation applications on their phones to facilitate communication may be out of luck since wireless reception is poor in the depths of the sauna where the real action takes place.

After the time period for a full service session is up a phone on the wall rings. The provider answers it and then hands the phone to the customer who will be asked if everything is okay. If he says yes the session will end and the provider will lead the customer by then hand back through the labyrinth of halls and back into the changing room.

Theoretically customers could stop off for other services like food or perhaps “real” massages but it might be tough for someone with no Chinese skills to navigate. Unlike the Macau and German sex saunas the atmosphere isn’t lounge-like at all.

A manager waits in the changing room and helps open lockers which require a customer key and a manager key to open. After customers get dressed they are led to a slightly disheveled lobby where they can settle their tab with cash or credit. All major currencies are accepted for cash payments though Chinese money gives the most value. UnionPay is the only credit card the establishment accepts.

The prices at Red House are reasonable considering the city and the circumstances the place operates under. Customers who contact the place by WeChat and ask for Jimmy are also given discounts.

Customers who arrange their sessions by getting in tough with Jimmy pay 750¥ ($114 USD) for a 70 minute session with a “normal” B girl. This includes multiple pops but no shower service. Shower service with a B girl is an additional 100¥.

The charge for an 80 minute session with a “model” A lady costs 998¥ ($152 USD) and includes shower service. For some reason customers are sometimes only charged 950¥ for this service. Any woman who has had plastic surgery and a small backside seems to be classified as an “A” model at Red House.

A 80 minute session including shower service with a “medium” M lady costs 1398¥ ($213 USD) and a 60 minute session with a “top model” T woman that includes two pops runs 1598¥ ($243 USD).

Sixty minute one shot no shower sessions with western “W” women are most expensive of all at 1698¥ ($259 USD) though western women are either rare at Red House or booked so often that they almost never appear in the display room.

As a medium range sauna with worn facilities but a large staff a place like Red House sauna wouldn’t stand out in a place like Macau or even Kuala Lumpur. But in Shanghai it does especially since it goes out of its way to accommodate foreigners even when they don’t know a single word in the local language. I give it an above average score of three-and-a-half stars.

This sure beats the waiting room at the dentist.

FKK Oase is a large and well known Roman-themed sex sauna located in Burgholzhausen which is just outside of the German city of Frankfurt. It bills itself as being “simply the best” and that is hard to argue with.

As noted in previous posts FKK is a common acronym used in German speaking countries that stands for freikörperkultur or “free body culture”. The original meaning and history of this is interesting enough for the purposes of the review underway here it suffices to say that Oase is full of naked women selling sex to customers in white robes.

FKK Oase is situated in a rural location just minutes from the city center. Every taxi driver knows the place though even if they didn’t either they or their customers could pull it up quickly on Google maps.

While plenty of people drive themselves to the club taking a taxi is also a very popular option. This is evidenced by the long line of taxis that waits outside of the club every evening and night waiting for customers to come outside and hail a ride back to town.

From the outside Oase looks like a modern rendition of a Roman bunker that would easily fit into the atmosphere of Reno, Nevada. It still doesn’t stick out in its grassy surroundings though since it is situated a little off of the road that leads to the building.

When customers enter they go through the usual procedure of stopping at the front desk to pay an admission fee and register. They are asked if they have visited before. Those who tell the hostess that it is their first time in the club will be given an informational brochure and a brief overview of the club. Those who have visited before will simply pay their 70 Euro entrance fee and receive a golden robe, a towel and a key to one of the many available lockers. Oase doesn’t charge an extra fee for the robe unlike the nearby FKK Mainhattan.

After receiving their locker key customers go through a small entrance on the left that leads to the main center of action. In front of them is a large long bar where drinks are supplied free of charge. Just to the right of that is a small bank of lockers where customers can store their money for use in paying service providers during their stay in the club. Further to the right is a flight of stairs that leads up to a hallway then down to a very large locker and wash room for the male customers to use.

Customers find the locker that matches their numbered key and wrist band. They undress and put their things inside while wrapping up in a towel, putting on a pair of clean slippers and heading to the wash area.

Customers are expected to shower upon entering the club and again between any sexual experiences they have. While this is not a rule that is enforced by anyone it is common etiquette and generally good practice. The shower room are large and clean and guys generally mind their business so it shouldn’t be an issue for anyone open enough to visit a German sex club.

After showering customers head back to their lockers to retrieve their provided cloth robe which serves as their only covering during their time in the club. They can then head back upstairs to where the action is.

Just past the aforementioned bar there are three very large rooms. The first is filled with round stand up bar tables. The next has a large stripper stage with poles in the middle and couches all around. The room furthest back is a “kino” or cinema where porn is displayed on a large movie screen in front of several rows of chairs.

There is also an outdoor pool area open when weather permits, a sauna, a garden, a dining area with buffets and other facilities like a male-only non smoking relaxation room. Free WiFi is also available throughout the club. The username and password are available at the front desk.

FKK Oase is filled with naked women from top to bottom. There are at least three or four dozen around at any given time though during busy hours it seems like there may be more than 125. I’ve never actually counted but this is the impression I get.

The women hail from all over the world with a few from Africa, South America and Asia appearing from time to time. The bulk are women from the European Union with Romania and Moldova being most represented. Women from countries like Poland, Hungary and Russia can also be found at times. The women range in age and looks though most are generally attractive, fit and in their early twenties.

Guys who sit in the bar or nearby rooms are often gently approached by women working in the club. They tend to bring up small talk before asking if there is interest in any more fun. Guys who politely decline are left with no issue and those who accept simply decide where to do the deed.

Sessions at Oase can take place in a number of places. Although public hardcore action used to be common most customers seem to head for a private room now. These are accessed through a hallway near the locker. Public sex and especially oral action is still possible and most women are up for it. While full on action goes on near the pool at times the kino is the regular spot for oral action and at times more. Since the kino is laid out a lot like a Japanese pink salon it is no surprise that Japanese customers can often be seen there receiving oral services.

Short sessions at Oase are regularly 50 Euro ($57 USD). This includes uncovered oral sex and covered full service with condoms provided by the club. Women can charge an extra 50 Euro for things like ejaculating in a mouth, finishing on a face or even just kissing. It depends on the service provider.

Although some can be mechanical at times the women generally put in full effort and don’t try to rip anyone off. It would be easy for a woman to gain a bad reputation and lose money. Most are genuinely skilled at what they do and really try to satisfy their customers. Some of the Romanian women are real pros who can give any provider in the world a run for their money.

The only downsides to Oase come from the customer side. It is not uncommon for large groups of guys to enter the club, get drunk and get loud. To some degree this is the sort of party atmosphere one would expect but at a certain point it becomes too much. Once a large fight broke out between two large groups of visitors. Although that sort of fight is not common it is something that unfortunately will be remembered. Usually people who are friendly receive the same treatment in return from the women and customers alike. Still I prefer the more customer oriented laid back and calm environments of the sex saunas in Macau.

Regulars and old timers often say that Oase isn’t what it once was. The same thing is heard about Thailand and a number of other locations. I can only report on Oase as it is today. As a large facility filled with beautiful nude women from around the world who are willing to have sex for less than a hundred green backs Oase delivers what a lot of guys are looking for in their entertainment. I give the place four-and-a-half-stars. If it wasn’t for the smokey and sometimes over raucous atmosphere I would give it a perfect score putting it with only three other reviews ever published on this site.

I would guess that most people reach the club by car which is not difficult to do even for those unfamiliar with the area. Punching the official mailing address of the club into a GPS doesn’t seem to work but it is just as easy to put in the name of the aforementioned industrial park. That leads one right to the doors of Wellcum.

Those unwilling or unable to drive themselves to Wellcum aren’t unable to visit. Local taxis are knowledgeable and can guide passengers to the club without issue. Austria is commonly described as an expensive place but that’s always a question of comparability. Austrian taxis don’t charge that much more than New York City’s famous yellow cabs but they are infinitely nicer.

Most FKK clubs in Europe have a similar set up. Guys pay an entrance fee and get access to the facilities where they can meet with women who offer sexual services for money. The women pay the club to enter and negotiate with customers on their own. They are thus considered self employed and are free to come and go as they please. In Austria as in Germany prostitution is totally legal under this arrangement. Wellcum operates on the same model though it is unique in some ways.

The Wellcum club is one of the nicer places around. It has great clean facilities that include an outdoor pool. It also offers better than average food and things like translation for major sporting events such as Euro 2016.

The club is also set up to handle private parties and even extends special deals to those who throw them. In addition there are live shows, theme days and events like the club’s “Arabian Nights” that help make things more exciting.

Another thing that sets Wellcum apart from some of the other FKK clubs in Europe is that it has its own hotel facilities. Guys who visit the sauna can stay right on the grounds in nice rooms that cost only 119 Euros ($132 USD) per night. This is a pretty competitive rate considering that the same amount of money barely gets one a small two star hotel room in the most of Austria and this place has gorgeous women right on premises.

Entrance to Wellcum costs 85 Euro ($94 USD) and includes full use of the facilities, unlimited non-alcoholic drinks and more. Unlike some places the club lets customers use towels, slippers and robes for free. What’s undoubtedly most important in the minds of most men it also offers access to around one hundred women from around Europe who are good looking and up for fun. The women ask for typical rates in exchange for their services which are reasonable and lower than what less attractive women typically ask for in places like the United States where the sale of sex is for some reason forbidden.

FKK Artemis in Berlin is probably the largest and most visible of all the sex saunas in German’s capital city. Artemis made international headlines a few weeks ago when the place was raided by authorities for alleged tax violations along with other charges. As reported on this site there may have been ideological motivations behind the raid even though the sale and purchase of sex remains legal in Germany. In any event Artemis is still open and operating just as it always has which makes it an obvious subject for review here at Rockit Reports.

The place is totally open to foreigners and has visitors from around the world. Most customers seem to be from around Europe but people from much further also show up with regularity.

Artemis is housed in a large and fairly obvious building in a well traveled part of town. Most people could probably find it on their own with a little help from a map but nearly every taxi in town knows it by name. That’s really no surprise. Artemis advertises on a number of taxis in a similar manner to the the mostly sexless and expensive strip clubs in New York’s Manhattan.

Customers enter Artemis by passing through the parking lot and into the main doors. Once inside they are faced with a front desk usually manned by an attractive lady. Up a flight of stairs to the left one sees a loft that contains the wallet lockers and more often than not some nude ladies standing around waiting for customers to pay them.

When guys approach the front desk they are usually asked if they speak German and if it is their first time at the club. The front desk workers like the rest of the people working in Artemis can speak a variety of languages with all being able to converse very well in English. Customers who say it is their first time are given the run down on the place while repeat customers are simply asked to fork over the 80 Euro ($89 USD) entry fee.

The entry fee gives customers access to the entire facilities along with unlimited free non-alcoholic drinks at the bar and food in the dining area. Unlike FKK Mainhattan in Frankfurt there is no extra charge for robes at Artemis. They are included in the entrance fee along with unlimited clean towels and slippers.

Once customers pay the entrance fee they are given a wrist band to wear while inside. They then walk up the stairs and straight into the large locker room. Women are prohibited from entering this area but there are usually at least a few guys inside. To the left there is a large shower area and some toilets and to the right there are several rows of slim lockers. Customers find an available locker and put their things inside. Then they change into a towel and slippers in their size and head over to the showers to wash off. Next they put on a robe. Then they retrieve their money and head over to the smaller lockers just outside. They find a locker here and place their money inside. After having a session they return to this mini locker to retrieve payment for their service provide after which they are expected to shower again before reentering the main public areas.

Artemis is a pretty large place. The locker room floor also houses the main lounge which is filled with a long round bar and countless seats all around. A raised level in the back has plenty of couches and there are more all around the room. At the far end there are even stripper stages and some beds which allow for public play but these don’t seem to be used much. Beyond that there is a door that leads to a medium sized dining area where food is served. Another door leads to an outdoor patio and a pool of decent size.

Down the stairs just outside of the locker room there are some semi-private rooms and a lounge with another indoor pool. There is a bar at the back end and lots of soft seats around with books and magazines to read. I have been told that is meant to be a relaxing area for guys so no women are allowed inside. In reality some of the more aggressive women do come inside from time to time. There is a gym too.

Also downstairs is the “keno” or public theater which gets a fair amount of use. There are elevated row seats in front of a large screen that plays porn around the clock. Some guys start sessions here with women and some like to receive oral sex here to completion. The action is out in public but a little dark. Most people pay little attention to what others are doing but some guys do seem to like to watch. Guys looking to play in the theater usually ask women for it before agreeing to a session. Some others just sit there and wait. Women pass through all the time and ask guys there if they want some company. Most of the women will at least start their play in the theater. Many will go all the way there. A few refuse it all together.

Climbing the stairs from the locker room floor leads to halls filled with private rooms that are used for sexual services. They are pretty plain but surprisingly clean considering what goes on and how often they are used. They are nothing like the filthy beds one finds in some Southeast Asian massage parlors where some of the bedding looks as if it has been around as long as the local strongmen.

There are dozens of women working at Artemis at any given time. Some days it seems like there are a hundred. Women from all over the world are represented with Romanians and Moldovans being the most common. A few women from places like Turkey, Poland, Hungary and even the Dominican Republic also show up with regularity. Some women have one Asian or African parent and one European parent. In my view they are some of the most attractive.

The women at Artemis walk around nude with only the occasional piece of sexy lingerie and high heels to accent their bodies. Most sit in the main lounge though they can be found throughout the facilities. Some hang around the stair cases and as mentioned many move through the theater quite a lot looking for fresh meat.

The majority of the women at Artemis will gently approach guys to see if they are interested in a session. Some wait to be approached. Almost all will accept offers for sessions though there are a few who are picky. Usually this mean that they insist on working with a friend or something like that. This is pretty rare however and frankly not that big of a deal.

The women who work at Artemis ask for 60 Euros ($67 USD) per session. This typically includes a blowjob and condom covered sex. Some will do more or less. The women who will do things like take facials usually ask for an additional 50 Euros ($56 USD). Those who will do anal usually want an extra 100.

Although the pricing scheme may seem a little cold the women aren’t all that mechanical. Most are very skilled in their job and go out of their way to get guys off. Some even seem to enjoy it. There are a few who are clearly looking to get money the quickest way they can but they are not the majority. The place has a lot of return customers and guys know who performs and who doesn’t. Women who put in no effort aren’t likely to last long.

Artemis has one of the biggest varieties of women on staff of any German sex club. It is impossible then to make a judgement on overall looks with any certainty. Different people have different ideas and there are all sorts of ladies working the place at any given time. I can say that most of the women would be considered attractive but most men. Different styles and sizes are around but there aren’t many overweight or overage ladies. Bodies typically look good with few saggy stomachs or breasts. A handful of women have fake breasts and a couple have gone for the full plastic Barbie look. It’s hard to believe any red blooded guy wouldn’t see plenty of women they would like to fuck on a visit.

Artemis isn’t all roses. Especially when it comes to smell. It seems that most of the customers and nearly all of the women at Artemis smoke cigarettes. The ventilation system in place is not able to handle this so the entire place stinks of smoke. Years ago I may not even have noticed this but today when smoking has been eliminated from most public places around the world it definitely stands out. Surprisingly the women don’t really smell of smoke. Either that or they do and its simply impossible to notice since everything else does too.

Another issue is that the club is so well known and central that it can get crowded at times. Even then there are many available women and space to play however. It doesn’t seem to get as rowdy as FKK Oase does either.

All considered Artemis is a good example of a European FKK club with plenty of women on staff who are eager to work and make money. I give it four stars.

Club K5 is an adult hangout that is a sort of hybrid mix of strip club and sauna. It is not exactly like the various “FKK” saunas that can be found around Europe and indeed even in the city of Prague. As well it is not exactly like the strip clubs that double as brothels that can also be found around Europe again including within Prague itself.

Apparently the sale of sexual services is permitted in the Czech Republic which would explain why it goes on so openly with places like K5 advertising online and even out in public. On the other hand there is a sort of confusion and even a repressive atmosphere that leads to places like the previously reviewed Mazlive Studentky operating in partial secrecy and as I will describe in a future post even “inspections” carried out by huge groups of fully armed law enforcement officers of above ground and fully licensed places that operate in full view of society.

Prague is not the most crowded or complicated city in the world by any means but its winding streets and various numbered districts can make navigation a little confusing for the uninitiated. Even under those conditions K5 is incredibly easy to find. It is located on Korunní in Prague 2 just steps away from the street car and the famous Church of Saint Ludmila.

There is a large sign that says “K5” attached to the exterior of the building that houses the club on the corner. Just up from that is a door that leads inside. Once customers enter they find a large lobby like room with a staircase and antique looking elevator. Before they can really enter the place a large security guard emerges seemingly from nowhere to greet them. Well perhaps greet is not the right term but I don’t think it could properly called a confrontation either. It is a sort of announcement that the club is under control without explicitly saying so.

The security guard seems to pat down some locals and select foreigners but guides most others to the elevator without much of an issue. He also presses the button inside the door in case the customers are incapable of finding the round circle.

Once the elevator doors open customers are met by one of the floor managers. Many hail from other areas with one of the most upfront being from Italy. The managers can typically speak several languages including which makes sense considering their work.

While return visitors can simply enter the club the managers explain the way things work to new visitors. This can seem unnecessary or even annoying in some places but at K5 it is probably justified by the way things are set up. The managers give tours of the facilities that allow customers to make an informed decision about the sort of service they want to pursue.

As the managers are keen to explain there are two ways to enjoy the club. The first is to pay a 500 Czech Koruna ($20.50 USD) entry fee which gives the customer access to a bar area that looks like a strip club where women lounge around and sometimes dance along with a relaxation room complete with beach chairs. The other is to pay 2400 Czech Koruna ($99 USD) to chose from the available ladies to have an immediate thirty-minute session in one of the private rooms.

Customers who pay to enter the club can also get full service sessions at various rates depending on the time period. Costs are not much different than what guys who walk in off the street for a quicky pay. Once in the room and showered the women who work at K5 are fairly straight forward and offer the usual European brothel style oral and standard full service. As is the case in most of the Czech Republic the oral sex is performed with a condom unless the customer pays an extra fee to remove it. Other extras such as facial finishes and anal when available also come at a premium. Tips are generally not asked for or expected outside of the fees associated with special services.

Customers can either select their service providers from an informal line up or walk around the club or by selecting one from a portfolio of photos. Those who opt to enter the club and hang around can actually invite the woman over for a drink before deciding to go into a private room. Obviously this costs money but the rates are not much more than the regular drinks at the bar.

The women who offer full service at K5 tend to be of average looks at best. Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I can only write from my own experience and view though after traveling the world endlessly for years I do think that I have some sort of a basis for making an objective observation. The average age is in the mid to late twenties with a few being a little older and few if any being nineteen or twenty. Most are European with Czech women being in the majority but other countries as far away as Brazil are also represented.

Most times there are a little more than a dozen women working the club. According to the management there can be up to forty women working during the highest periods but I have no idea whether this is the truth or hopeful marketing that aims to get customers back in the club at a later date.

The rooms at K5 are clean and in some cases rather unique. They can even be down right impressive considering the aged classic style building they are housed in with some being fully mirrored or decorated with sky lights and heart-shaped beds. Ultimately though this is probably not a reason for most people to visit the place.

As is the case with most saunas customers receive a numbered wrist band when they enter the club. This occurs whether they enter the place officially or simply opt for a quick session. When customers exit they return this wrist band to the front desk and pay their tabs. European women who like the bar tenders in the mainstream bar around the corner are often more attractive than the K5 club’s full service providers run the modern cash register which accepts cash and most major bank and credit cards.

Club K5 Relax is a good example of an above ground and straight forward brothel in the Czech Republic. The place obviously has high aspirations as indicated by its various options and thought out theme rooms. The prices reflect the idea that the place is a high end entertainment zone in the middle of one of Europe’s most visited city. On the other hand the place has a bit of an underutilized and at times even empty feel which makes the rates seem higher than they should be especially considering that places like Showplace DaVinci and some large saunas are only a short walk away. I give it a below average score of one-and-a-half stars.

Latino night at Goldentime.

Goldentime is the most well known of all of the FKK style sex saunas in Austria and possibly even Western Europe. Nestled in plain sight in the city of Vienna the club is too large and well advertised for most people to miss.

While Goldentime is easily accessible by both foot and public transportation I would imagine that most people reach it by vehicle. Plenty of locals and others from around Europe drive themselves as evidenced by the large parking lot which is normally filled with automobiles and taxis bring in many more. Most cab drivers know the place by name and even those who didn’t wouldn’t have a hard time locating the building decorated externally as it is by large pictures of partially nude European women in sexy poses.

Once customers enter the club they come to a sort of open lobby with a desk at its center. Above the desk large flat screen televisions show a video loop featuring thousands of mostly blond European women who look like supermodels. Behind the desk sits one of several attendants.

The people who work behind the scenes at Goldentime are multilingual. All can speak the local version of German and will typically start with this though most can and will quickly switch into English or any other language they are capable of speaking if they realize they are dealing with a foreigner.

The front desk workers are all fluent in English which is probably a requirement of their work and not out of the norm in Austria in any case. A lot of guys from Austria and Germany do visit the club but a fare share of others from places as far away as Canada and Japan also stop through on a normal basis. Regular customers simply pay the 90 Euro ($99 USD) entrance fee at the desk and walk in. First timers get a rundown of the way the place works. Those who have been to FKK clubs around Europe will already know the deal.

Guys get a wrist band with a locker key when they enter. They put their street clothes inside and shower in the large locker room before putting on the provided robe and slippers and heading out into the even larger lounge area. There they can find a buffet with free food and a bar that serves an unlimited supply of free non-alcoholic drinks. The entrance fee also gives access to the rest the facilities which include things like comfortable chairs to lay around in. The main draw of course is the women.

Dozens of women can be found working at Goldentime on any given day. Most are Romanians and Moldovans in their twenties who are normally attractive. A few come from other countries. A real European variety can be found at Goldentime with women from places like Hungary and Bulgaria often making appearances. Women from other parts of the world are rarer. Women come to the club to sell sexual services. They pay the club a fee to enter then negotiate with customers for sex. In practice there is an understanding that a session of uncovered oral and full sex goes for 60 Euro ($66 USD) with extras like an ejaculation on the face finish going for thirty more. The club simply provides a meeting place for these women to meet interested men and rooms for them to get busy in. The club doesn’t take a cut of what the women make from the sale of sex. This is all permitted under local law which is much more rational than the rules in some other places that make it legal to give away sex for free but illegal to sell it.

As previously described the lounge area at Goldentime is large. In fact it is probably one of the largest lounges that can be found in any FKK club. This gives a lot of room and reduces chance for the kind of crowding that can be found at popular places like Artemis in Berlin but it can also make the place look a little dead in the early hours. For those solely seeking to meet women this can be a good thing. Those looking for the kind of party atmosphere that can sometimes be found at clubs like Oase in Frankfurt on the other hand may be disappointed. I would expect that most guys visit these kinds of places for the women though and I don’t imagine that most would be disappointed in that regard.

Most FKK clubs have at least one cinema area where porn movies are played in front of some assortment of bench seats or beds. These kinos as they are locally known are the main places where public action takes place. Some women have no problem playing the kinos but others aren’t enthusiastic or refuse the activity outright. At places like Oase most of the women are up for public fun. At places like Mainhattan in Frankfurt only a few are. There is a cinema room at Goldentime but few of the women are into using it.

All are into the private rooms however which are large and clean. They contain big beds with clean linens that leave customers with little to complain about. There are also enough around that guys are never left waiting for a place to go which unfortunately can happen at other similar places during the busiest times.

Goldentime is good in that regard. As mentioned above the locker room is even large and well thought out. Instead of the strangely shaped doors with wider tops than bottoms that can hit unsuspecting guys in the head the lockers at Goldentime have normal straight doors. The showers are also large and always kept clean by the staff. The same goes for pretty much everything else in the club too. There is a high standard.

It may seem odd to spend much time talking about facilities and surroundings but after all that is what customers are really paying for when they plop down the price of admission at any FKK club. Besides there is a huge variance with any large group of women that makes it near impossible to talk conclusively about the staff. The women at any FKK aren’t necessarily any different than the women at any other FKK. Many even move back and forth between clubs. Since the women are all independent there is not much clubs can even do to influence them besides baring the most egregious rule breakers. That’s rare though with most FKK clubs being very safe and laid back places where everyone seems able to hold it together.

All in all Goldentime is a good example of what a FKK club in Western Europe is like. It is a little more expensive than most of the other clubs in the region but as they say Vienna is an expensive city. With little to set it apart from other FKK saunas besides from its large and well kept interior I give the place a slightly above average score of three stars.

The many sex saunas of Macau have been covered in detail on Rockit Reports for years. Over the last two years however coverage of the subject has been more limited. There are only so many saunas in Macau though truth be told I have not come near covering them all. Trying to write about various parts of the world all at once is always a tough thing to do especially when considerations of time and resources come into play.

Beverly Sauna is one of the bigger and more well-known saunas in Macau although a lot of English-speaking people seem to overlook it. The sauna is located on the second floor of the Beverly Plaza Hotel which itself is a rather large place that most familiar with Macau know.

Customers access the sauna by going past a desk and up a flight of stairs. That leads to a clear walkway ending in the typical changing room set up. The lockers are electronic which is probably of little importance to most visitors since they ultimately work just like the regular key hole stows spaces in other saunas around the island. Customer put their clothes into an assigned locker and wrap themselves up in a towel before moving on to the wash room.

The washroom is a fairly typical set up. It has several shower stalls that customers are expected to use when they first enter. They are open though no one spends any time looking at the guys using them. There are also some pools containing water of various temperatures. A lot of saunas have these sorts of pools but they rarely seem to be in use. At Beverly the pools are regularly used for skinny dipping sessions. Perhaps this because Beverly has so many Chinese customers.

Behind the pools there are a few private shower stalls with frosted glass doors. These rooms are staffed by Vietnamese women dressed in lingerie or bikinis. The women are happy to give customers a soapy table shower with the price being tacked right on to their tabs. The women range in looks with a few being very attractive. The services are mainly limited to the customers being washed head to toe with warm water and soap but at times things can get a little more adventurous. Some of the women even make themselves available for full service sessions inside at a higher than normal price.

After customers are done with the wash room they head into a small changing area. This part of the sauna is staffed by Filipino guys. I hate to be a sexist but I have to say that the sight of a few guys from the Philippines isn’t nearly as nice as the sight of the kinds of attractive women from Indonesia and other parts of Asia that some other saunas hire for the same work. In any event the Filipinos guys take wet towels and hand customers neon green robes and short shorts that look like they come straight out of the early-1990’s and slippers that they are expected to wear inside. Although the gear can look a little ridiculous it is what everyone wears so no odd looks are given. It should be noted that the robes and shorts are of a higher than normal quality which may explain why they look so old. Perhaps they have been in service since before the handover.

Just past the changing room stands the lounge. It is no better or worse than most other sauna lounges in Macau even the place does have some age. The room is lined with nice big lounge chairs that are rarely filled. In one part of the room there are standard tables that allow customers to enjoy restaurant-style seating. Flat screen televisions are mounted on the ceilings.

Beverly is like all other saunas in offering free food as a part of the package. While some places only go through the motions Beverly excels. The sauna’s menu is quite a bit bigger than most others and the flowered shirt wearing staff is incredibly attentive. There are some items on the menu that may appear odd to westerners but that is simply a case of the business catering to its clientele. There are many foods common to the west on the menu as well. A few items carry extra charges but they are reasonable. For example a shot of espresso costs just 10 Macanese Pataca ($1.25 USD).

Like other saunas Beverly staffs a range of people to do different tasks. At Beverly there are women wearing different outfits to indicate their area of expertise. Women wearing red shirts and black pants do foot massages. Women wearing pink shirts and black skirts work on the upper half of the body. This means they do things like ear cleaning and shoulder massages. The women wearing white shirts and short white skirts do “inner thigh” massages.

Unlike some other saunas where handies can be given right in the lounge that sort of hand work is limited to private rooms at Beverly. The rates are on par with other saunas as the service is just as good but there aren’t many white skirted women around and those who are on staff can get quite busy.

The women working the floor at Beverly range in looks but most are moderately attractive. Some are outright beautiful. Most are friendly though the sauna allows the women to carry their phones while they work which inevitably leads to some of the ladies on staff spending more time staring at their screens than working or looking for customers. This is not common in most of the competing saunas.

As previously noted Beverly mainly works with Chinese customers though the place to seems to be open to anyone who can afford the service. A floor manager who looks like a character out of Reservoir Dogs roams around looking for things to do. He seems to a friendly fellow who is constant communication with customers and the women on staff without ever appearing to be rude. Of course I cannot speak Cantonese and I have no special insight into what really goes on so what do I know?

All in all Beverly operates like most other saunas though there are some things that set it apart. One is the hours of operation. Most saunas are open around the clock or at least allow customers to sleep overnight if they require it. Beverly also caters to customers but takes things a little further but opening at full steam early in the day and even offering customers a breakfast menu.

The lineup procedure at Beverly is also unique. Normally saunas either organize periodic lineups of the women available for full service or allow customers to request a lineup in front of their seat whenever they are ready. When customers want a full service session at Beverly they are guided up a set of stairs to an area which can be accessed by guys coming in from the street. This is probably convenient for people who want full service without spending hours at the sauna though it is a bit odd to have freshly washed guys in short shorts and robes standing next to others in their street gear who just wandered in from a casino.

The women who offer full service at Beverly represent a wide range of looks. The club claims a staff of women from mainland China along with others from South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore and Russia. In all likelihood many of these women are not from the countries claimed though it is notable that Chinese women are in the minority and Vietnamese women are totally absent from the list. Some of the women are only moderately attractive though at least a few are absolutely gorgeous.

The women claimed to be from exotic countries ask more for a session than others though the prices are not out of the ordinary for the area. The women claiming Japan for example ask 1949 MOP ($244 USD). As is usual there are all sorts of discounts and deals available which can be incredibly complicated. Usually a guy who pays for a few floor services and at least one round of full service does not have to pay an admission fee.

The rooms where the full service sessions take place are just around the corner from the line up room. They quarters are large but done in Korean or Japanese style with the mattresses right on the floor. Most other saunas use the kinds of elevated beds common in the West. The rooms show signs of wear and tear but they aren’t horrible by any means. The rooms do have modern flat screen televisions that show at least two channels of Japanese porn. The rooms also have large full showers though they don’t contain anything special like the frog leg licking tables at Emperor.

Each woman has their own way of doing things but there are no real reports of amazing performances coming out of Beverly with any regularity. The women do their jobs and focus on the parts that are involved so most have nothing to complain about but things can have a routine element to them especially for repeat customers who no longer are shocked that places like these even exist in the first place.

Beverly is a long standing sauna with a loyal following. It has a few unique ways of operating that set it apart from the competition but these do not necessarily make it any better in the eyes of customers. It is simply another option among many. I give the place an average score of two-and-a-half stars though if it was located somewhere else in the world where such saunas don’t exist it would probably deserve a much higher rating.

Rockit Reports has always aimed at covering the commercial sex scene around the world. Of course this earth is a big place and is filled with things to be reported on. Even a subject seemingly as simple as the blowjob bars of Bangkok can take years to cover in any real detail.

Reportage of the scene in parts of Europe first appeared here a few years ago. It has gradually expanded since then. The Czech Republic has been one focus with the capital city of Prague receiving some real examination.

Prague is filled with adult entertainment options. Most are not totally obvious to people walking down the historic streets of the city but they are still there often tucked only a short walk from some of the major sites and attractions that bring people from around the world to visit the place.

The status of adult entertainment in the Czech Republic always seems to be in question. Although venues operate openly in main streets people in the industry always seem to be looking over their shoulders. As this report will reveal that is probably warranted.

The Sexy Sauna Erotic Club is so open that it can be found with a search on Google maps. Although that indicates the general location of the place the map is off by a few meters. It also shows the Sexy Sauna on the wrong side of the road.

The Sexy Sauna is located on a road with several other adult entertainment options. There are also male touts stationed outside trying to wave guys int their businesses. The street is never very busy and most of the guys who walk up and down it seem to be from places other than Prague though there certainly are a few locals around.

The business itself is located in one of Prague’s many historic buildings. The structure is large and has many rooms. Built decades and possibly even a century ago it was obviously not designed to house a sex club but the owners have made it work.

Entering through a large door customers come to a front desk staffed by women who seem like they will be financially penalized if they crack a smile. A male manager who can speak English and a few other languages also stays up front and explains the place to people who are not in the know.

The entrance fee for the Sexy Sauna is 2000 Koruna ($83 USD). This includes full access to the facilities inside which are large but definitely not up to the resort like standards of a place like Mainhattan in Frankfurt. There are things like a small pool and theater but not much else. Customers can come and go throughout the day though they must pay an additional 100 Koruna each time they reenter.

Once customers pay the entrance fee they are given a rubber arm band that contains a number and a key. This key opens one of the many locker located downstairs. Customers undress and place their clothes and belongings in these lookers then shower and put on a bathrobe before heading into the main facilities.

There is a rather large lounge room with two floors. The lower floor where customer enter has some couches and chairs and a set of bathrooms. Upstairs there is a long full bar along with numerous couches and tables. The entire interior has a sort of “white ice” theme.

Women from all over the world work at the Sexy Sauna. They sit around in the nude with their bodies exposed for all to see. The management claims that sixty women work the club. This doesn’t seem to be true. There are probably more than two dozen women on hand most nights. Romanian women make an appearance as is expected in any European sex sauna but there are also ladies from many other places like Albania and Hungary around.

The smoking ban that has been enforced in most of the world for years has not reached this place. While it is not immediately noticeable as the place is surprisingly well ventilated most of the women working inside smoke. Many smoke as if cigarettes will be outlawed within the next twenty four hours and they are enjoying their last pack.

Still for the most part the women are generally attractive. While there are few ladies that would be mistaken for supermodels there aren’t really any women with poor looks either. It would be rare and usually impossible to spot an overweight lady. This is no Wal-Mart in the Midwestern United States. The women range in age from nineteen to around thirty with most falling somewhere in the middle.

The layout and atmosphere of the Sexy Sauna is rather comfortable on normal occasions. A real issue however is that the comfortable normal occasions are sometimes interrupted by the powers that be. This comes in the form of unannounced raids carried out by a dozen or more muscle clad law enforcement officers who wear armor as if they were going to storm a criminal stronghold. They are usually joined by one or two female officers who appear to be totally disgusted by the sale of sex.

When these troopers storm the Sexy Sauna they spread out throughout the facilities. Women working the place cover themselves up but don’t appear to show much fear. The law enforcers go through everyone on staff to check their identification cards. Apparently they are checking to make sure that everyone is of age and authorized to work. Of course there are other ways such checks could be done but apparently they are not interested in that.

Customers are never bothered or even approached by the law enforcers in most cases but surely at least some must be put off by their presence. Many must also be upset that they are prevented from leaving while the checks take place. This can’t be very good for business.

When the forces of the state are not being unleashed at this establishment customers are free to approach the women working the sauna for intimate sessions. The women will sometimes approach customers but that is not nearly as common at the Sexy Sauna as it is at a place like Artemis in Berlin.

The standard rate for a short session of full service at the Sexy Sauna is 1900 Koruna or 70 Euro ($78 USD). This typically includes covered oral and intercourse. Special requests are sometimes met for more money.

The sessions take place in a series of white cubicles that look like they come out of Japanese capsule hotels. They have enough room for things to take place but they are certainly not spacious. The place that houses these cubicles is a bit odd looking and almost resembles something out of a sci-fi movie.

The halls leading to this place has a few showers for both customers and the women working the place to use. These are open and exposed to everyone who passes by but no one seems to pay much attention to whoever is inside.

Performance always depends on any number of factors but most women working at the Sexy Sauna aim to please even if they can lean toward the mechanical. That’s just the way things go in a place like this.

The Sexy Sauna Erotic Club is not exactly like the FKK clubs in German-speaking parts of Europe but that only makes sense. It is located in the Czech Republic and has its own features and practices. The biggest issue the place has seems to be with not infrequent visits from local law enforcement. I give it three stars.

With ads like this around town you know you’re in a place where fun happens.

Guys who have visited the Special Administrative Region of Macau at some point or even read the reviews I’ve done of Macau saunas on this website will have no trouble understanding why the place is often referred to as a male paradise. Those who have not had the pleasure of checking out the scene may not. Sometimes I think it may not be worth my time to share the information I have since there’s already so much floating around on the internet. Then I come across a review like this (which is titled “Avoid unless your like prostitution and gambling,” as absurd as titling a review of Alaska “Avoid unless you like snow and nature”) and I realize there are still millions or even billions of people in the world who really are unaware of what goes on in places like Macau. I write this report with that in mind.

The sale of sexual services in legal in Macau, which is precisely why there are so many high quality, sanitary, well-organized and generally safe options available. Sex workers in Macau have access to free health services, and in 2012 Vicky Lei Wai Kei from the Health Bureau of Macau said  that “no HIV positive case was found among the women” she had access to, even those tended to be on the lower / less expensive end of the spectrum.

Although the Macau SAR is quite small and compact (so much so that you can often get around easier on foot than you can by car) there are numerous facilities around for guys looking for fun. Unlike Japan and South Korea, the scene in Macau is totally open to foreign visitors and there’s no real barrier for those who don’t speak the local language (unfortunately there appears to still be some prejudice on the basis of skin color though). Here’s a rundown of what’s out there.

Saunas – These are the cream of the crop, offering everything from showers with a bit of oral from 19 year old beauties to ear cleanings, dick and ball massages, and of course full service fun with beautiful women from around the world. You spend as much time as you’d like in these places, and it’s quite normal to take in some sleep with a heaping helping of the free food and drink on offer. Rates vary depending on the place, the services and the level and origin of the girls a customer chooses but expect to drop the equivalent of between 250 and 500 US dollars for several hours of real fun. As stated I have already reviewed a number of saunas on this website (Emperor Sauna, Familia Nobre, Golden Sauna, Rio Spa, Sanado Health Spa). There are several more that I haven’t yet reported on (18, East, Big Boss, etc.).

Fishbowls – Fishbowls in Macau operate a lot like they do at places like Honey Massage in Pattaya, Thailand. That said, I think the Macau shops tend to be a little better on average. The best place of this sort in Macau in without a doubt Darling 1. It’s moved around a few times recently but it’s worth tracking down. Unlike the saunas the action here is more to the point. Customers walk in, chose one or more of the ladies from the extensive line up of beautiful women (mostly from Vietnam) and then head to a private room where they get bath play followed by full service fun. Another fishbowl is Darling 2, which is good but not as great as number 1.

Casino girls – There are many working women in Macau who prowl the casinos in search of customers. These gals are usually Chinese and they usually prefer Chinese and other Asian customers. The “race track” at the Lisboa (so-called because the women keep walking in a circle to avoid problems with security) is the most famous area for this sort of action. Beware that the rates are high and the service is mediocre. For many punters who are not Asian none of this will matter though since it’ll be inaccessible to them anyway.

Freelance girls – A number of freelance working women can be found in bars and discos around Macau. They range in nationality though I’ve run into a good number of Filipinas, Vietnamese and Indonesians. Some work at saunas and are just looking for some fun or extra money on the side. Others specialize in this sort of action. In my opinion rates are too high considering everything else that is so easily available. If you’re interested in an overnight or even just a little fun with a lady of this type it’s pretty easy to arrange a meeting outside of work with many of the floor service women (masseuses, attendants, etc.) who work in the saunas. Just make sure there is a little chemistry and try to be discreet about it.

Brothels – These are exactly what they sound like. There are a few straight forward point and poke places like this around Macau. Perhaps the well known or most accessible to short-time foreign visitors would be Hou Va, where a short romp with one of the women on staff goes for a lot less than it does at sauna or even a place like Darling 1. These aren’t the hottest women in the world but they definitely aren’t the worst either. This is a good choice for guys who blow their stack on the gaming tables and only have a few bucks left for fun.

Walk ups – These work the same way they do in Hong Kong. You find a place and walk up to the door. If you like the gal inside you can step into the room and make a quick score for a set fee. If you don’t, you can move on to the next place. Websites are the best way to find these places, though the pictures shown online don’t always match up with reality. Sites like 141 Macau are good nonetheless, and they can also put you onto girls who do outcall or work out of hotels.

Escorts – As with almost everywhere else in the world, there are plenty of escorts in Macau for those who prefer to go this route. In this modern world I shouldn’t have to tell you that these women are most easily found online, especially since you’re reading this information on a website.

For my money Macau really comes into its own with the saunas and fishbowls. The other options can be nice but they are sort of run-of-the-mill when it comes to pay for play. I think Macau’s saunas are the best thing going in Macau, but I’m also the kind of guy who eats French food while in France while avoiding things like international fast food chains. For the most part anyway.

Below is a map of many of the men’s entertainment areas in Macau. I can’t take credit for creating it. Those responsible did a very good job and most of the places mentioned here are listed.

How do you get to Macau? There are many options. The easiest is just to fly in directly. Depending on where you are coming from that can also be the cheapest. Another option is to cross over by land from mainland China. Finally, you can take a short ferry ride over from Hong Kong, which despite being one of the easiest places to get laid in the world can’t really compare to Macau when it comes to pay for play action. One positive is that many travel companies sell discounted tickets that include ferry service to and from Macau along with a certificate good for full service in a particular sauna, though there is usually some stipulation such as allowing the management to choose the lady and limiting the other services like thigh massage one can get.

The US government has put Macau on a watch list for “human trafficking.” Do people come to Macau for work? Absolutely. Does some of it involve sex? You better believe it. Why that’s different than going there to work as a card dealer in a casino I guess depends on your perspective. Are people forced into the work? I don’t think so. They are definitely motivated by financial reasons, recruiters and family but I’m sure that’s true of any overseas employment. I’ve talked to dozens of ladies working in saunas and fishbowls in Macau, many times outside of their places of employment and well beyond earshot of their employers. I’ve even become friends with some of them and stayed in contact long after they returned to their home countries. None have ever told me they were forced into anything, even when I brought the subject up. Since “human trafficking” is the favorite buzzword of the movement to criminalize all sex work I take reports like the one out of the State Department with a grain of salt.

Should you travel to Macau? That’s your choice. Tens of millions do each year and most leave with a great experience. As always, I don’t advocate that anyone do anything. I’m just stating the facts and trying to provide a little adult entertainment.

East Sauna is the anchor of the East Start Group which manages a number of properties including the Sanado Health Spa that I reviewed on this website nearly one year ago.

With an easy to find location inside of the Waldo Hotel, East Sauna operates and even looks a lot like Sanado. In fact one could even be forgiven for thinking the two were identical if it wasn’t for a few slight differences.

The entrance involves all the usual aspects of a Macau Sauna. The customer enters a changing area where he disrobes and loads his clothing into a locker. An attendant then gives him a key for that locker which he wears around his wrist for the duration of his visit. The only thing a customer can bring inside is his phone. Money is not allowed. All charges are attached to the number on the wrist band and the bill is settled at the front desk on the way out.

Thankfully, East is a sauna that staffs its locker area with women. You might think that this would be the norm across Macau but unfortunately it’s not, as places like Familia Nobre that are otherwise excellent. The pretty staff of locker attendants and such seem to hail mostly from the Philippines and I think outside appointments could be easily and discreetly arranged with many of them in the right situation.

Once a customer disrobes and puts on a towel they will be led to the shower area where they will chose one of several bikini-clad Vietnamese women to assist them. Don’t imagine the Playboy Mansion here. Most of these women look understandably bored sitting around though they do seem to perk up a bit when it’s time to get busy. After being de-toweled and washed from head to toe the customer will sit down on a fold down plastic seat in the shower stall. The attendant will then take a mouthful of Listerine and perform a short blowjob. After that it’s one final rinse then off to get a robe from one last attendant.

As mentioned, the interior of East looks a lot like Senado, right down to the two rows of chairs. The floor attendants are also similar. There are general attendants in dark clothing that can take food orders and arrange line ups of the available full service women. There are also women in colorful clothes who do various other jobs. One set massages from the waist up and can do things like ear cleaning. Another set can massage from the waist down, including the lovely “thigh massage.”

At East, the thigh massage takes places in a private room with a comfortable leather chair. A twenty-five minute session costs a whopping 438 Patacas ($57 US) but is pure enjoyment. The women that perform this task aren’t the best looking, but they aren’t the worst either. Most are from Vietnam. The only downfall of the thigh massage at East is that the room lacks a television with porn movies ala Familia Nobre.

Other, more basic services are more reasonable and take place on the floor (with the obvious exception of more complicated procedures).

Full service is also on offer from a large staff of women who are also mostly, but not exclusively, from Vietnam. Customers can ask for a line up at any given time to see who is available, or they can wait for one of the regular “showtimes.” The rates for full service are reasonable and in tune with other saunas in the area, with “models” bringing a bit more than their cohorts at 2000 Patacas ($258 US) a go.

One thing that is out of the norm when it comes to most saunas is that full service at East happens in large hotel rooms rather than the smaller purpose-built quarters common nearly everywhere else. These rooms are large and lavish though they lack any kind of wild shower apparatuses. In fact, full service at East tends to come without a shower of any kind. It’s simply up the stairs and into the bed where the fun begins.

All the usual tricks are at play and a generally good session can be expected from practically everyone on staff. Standard service would last an hour but there are no hard and fast rules. It doesn’t seem to be a rushed or mechanical environment.

The free food and drinks at East are good but not great. There is an obvious tilt toward Chinese-style foods but it comes quick and hot and is usually enough to hit the spot. An interesting quirk at East is that the full service women eat their food in the same room as the customers. There’s usually not much socializing going on though as everyone is focused on either the food in front of them or the television on the wall.

If Senado is one of the best saunas in Macau than East Spa Club is right up there with it. As a reliable place with a good level of service and comparatively reasonable rates, I think it’s completely fair to give East Sauna a solid four-and-a-half stars.

In the time that this website has been online I have covered the commercial sex scenes in numerous countries. Early on I posted a back log of posts I had written up over a period of time that allowed me to quickly build up a deep archive. All the while I kept updating as regularly as possible with new reviews and reports. Nearly two years on I’ve only begun to scratch the surface and report on some of the relevant information I have rattling around between my ears.

I’ve had plans to post on locations like Jakarta, Singapore and Athens for some time. The posts ended up being indefinitely delayed by various circumstances. While trying to write up reports on a whole list of venues I kept pushing other posts into the future. In some cases things apparently changed by the time I came around to writing a post, as was the case with a great go go bar in Pattaya that was closing as I was reviewing it. All the while I would get occasional comments or emails asking why I didn’t write about this or that city.

A few months ago a few readers and advertisers made comments about the focus of the site, which they thought was mainly Thailand and Japan. The comments were not necessarily negative but they got me thinking. While I intended to write reports in a certain order I realized that regular and new readers alike enjoyed variety. So now I’ve begun mixing in posts on places that I have not reported on in depth so far. I hope viewers will appreciate the expanded coverage.

The Malioboro Executive Club and Spa in Jakarta, Indonesia, is one of the closest things to a Macau sauna that can be found outside of China. Unlike Macau, the sale of sexual services is officially illegal in Indonesia. One would never be able to tell that however when they see massive adult entertainment complexes on major throughways in the country’s capital (though those unfortunate enough to come across anti-prostitution campaigns like this would surely be aware).

Malioboro is so large in fact that it dwarfs the saunas of Macau. They are housed in large buildings that also contain hotels and casinos. Malioboro takes up the whole building.

Malioboro is easily found on Jalan Gajah Mada in Jakarta and even those incapable of reading a map would be able to find their way there by asking any taxi driver in the city for the place by name.

Although it welcomes people from around the world, the place is most commonly frequented by Indonesians with money to burn. Because of that and a lack of English speaking ability by many of the people on staff foreigners could potentially find Malioboro difficult to navigate. In reality things are very straight forward.

Customers enter Malioboro (which is not to be confused with the Malio Club which is exactly what it sounds like with the addition of some available pay for play action) through a set of glass doors manned by serious looking security guards. Customers have to empty their pockets and pass through a metal detector to get in. Once inside the large lobby they head over to the large front desk to get a numbered wrist band from the women working reception. As with the Macau saunas this number is used to track a punter’s purchases while he is in side. On the way out he returns to the front desk with his wrist band to settle up his tab.

There are several levels in the Malioboro complex. Those looking for sauna services can find them at the back of the ground floor where they’ll be met by male attendants ready to help them prepare. As far as I know nothing sexual happens in the sauna area so those looking for adult fun simply move on. Guys who like a soak certainly enjoy the various implements though which are clean and well maintained.

There’s also a KTV available for those who like to sing and drink with a room full of women for a fee. Readers of this site will know that I’m not a big fan of this set up so I can’t speak much about it.

The most fun at Malioboro happens on the second floor which can be reached by elevator or stairs. Beyond the unattractive Chinese women who hang around in front of the elevators asking punters if they’d like a full body massage for 200,000 Rupiah ($17 US) is a set of doors that leads to a large lounge area.

Inside of this smoke filled lounge area punters will see several stages where very sexy Indonesian women dance in bikinis or nude surrounded by dozens of tables and chairs. This place opens around noon but the action doesn’t really start until at least 3 PM. New visitors will often be attacked by mamasans who want to show them their stable but more experienced customers will simply pick out a seat of their own choosing.

Reasonably priced drinks are available from the attentive staff of uniformed waitstaff that is made up of both men and women. Before a punter has a time to enjoy a beverage though he will likely be approached by one or two young Indonesian women wearing nothing more than panties and a bra. These women work the stages and the floors mainly in search of lady drinks. They will give punters an up close and personal lap dance in exchange for the purchase of a shot that sells for 50,000 Rupiah or roughly $4.25 US dollars. When I say up close and personal I mean it. They will take their bras off and push their tits and nipples into the guy’s face while grinding hard on his body.

Inexperienced guys can get swamped with drink request after drink request which makes the bill quickly stack up, especially when shots are being purchased for two or more women at once. I’ve heard reports of Western guys spending an hour on the floor only to find a bill of more than 100 US waiting for them downstairs. This is easy to avoid by guys who can keep their wits and its nothing like the scam shows of Patpong in Bangkok that hit people with charges of $100 for a single drink so I don’t think it’s a huge negative.

Done right the lap dance for lady drinks program can actually be a lot of fun. Guys in the know can lay back with a gal or two and get some great entertainment out of it. Some Asian guys with lots of cash to burn can be seen hanging around for hours drinking with nude nubile babes under each arm. The women are universally hot with some of the best bodies to be found in any similar place around the world. Unlike the go go bars of Thailand and the Philippines, dancers with a lot of sag or love handles are nowhere to be found dancing at Malioboro.

Some of the bikini clad bar babes can be taken upstairs for a romp but not all of them are interested in it. Some may only be interested at certain points or with certain people. If they do agree to it the cost is 1,500,000 Rupiah ($128 US) or more. Prices are given before hand and punters have to sign off on a piece of paper with their wrist band number before anything can happen.

Beyond the luscious lady drink lasses sit dozens of ladies from around the world who do nothing but wait for a punter to pick them out. These women who come from places like China, Thailand, Uzbekistan and Russia, along with local ladies from Indonesia, are mainly there for those looking for full service. They are separated into groups that are managed by different mamasans (or in some cases papasans). If a guy sees a gal he likes on the floor he can ask her to join him, otherwise he will have to ask each manager to see their lineup until he finds someone he is interested in. Once selected the gals will usually sit with the punter while the manager writes down the price on a piece of paper. Guys who agree with the price which ranges from 350,000 to 2 million Rupiah ($30-172 US) will sign off on the paper before being guided outside and up a floor or two to one of the large massage rooms. On the way a stop will be made at reception where the gal will get the room key and purchase a prophylactic.

The full service ladies at Malioboro range in looks but most are relatively attractive. Only a few look as good as the local dancers in my opinion but things change all the time and one guy’s trash is another man’s treasure. One thing is for sure, none of the women at Malioboro from the front desk reception on up could be called unattractive by anyone with functioning eyes.

The rooms are roomy and clean with separate shower areas and large beds but they are nothing spectacular. Since most guys could probably care less about the temporary quarters I won’t make any more mention of that. More interesting to many would be the male and female attendants that walk the halls between the room who seem to be quite eager to cheer on customers who pass by, sometimes even giving positive comments on their choice along with high fives.

The level of service varies with the service provider. That’s the case almost anywhere in the world, with the exception of establishments like the Macau saunas where the women seem to be given lessons in how to provide a great session. I doubt anyone would throw a lady out of bed at Malioboro but they shouldn’t expect a PSE from every women on staff either. That’s seems to be especially true of some of the local ladies who go for lower rates as they seem to be more modest than man-eater for the most part. There doesn’t seem to be any set policy on rubbers either. Some use them for everything from start to finish while others reserve them only for full service.

Sessions are supposed to be sold in 90 minute blocks but as with most places that’s rarely realized. Once a guy gets off the sessions usually draws to a close. There is no rush or clock watching but unless a lady especially likes a lad they don’t usually hang around for long periods after the fun has ended.

Once a session concludes the punter is led back to the second floor where they can chose between lounging around, trying out more services or heading out the door.

Settling the tab is as easy as heading back to the reception desk on the ground floor. There is an entrance fee of something like 150,000 Rupiah at Malioboro but it is usually waved for guys who partake in at least one full service sessions. A few hours of fun with a big bang to conclude usually ends up at 2 or 3 million Rupiah. This is pretty reasonable considering what’s on offer. Once payment is rendered the customer is given an article that proves they paid up. They hand this over to the security guards on the way out.

As a well maintained men’s entertainment establishment with a wide variety of women on staff ready to meet almost any need Malioboro stands out not only in Indonesia but in the world as a whole. It’s potentially possible for unwitting punters to run into more charges than they’d like or even to have trouble finding their way at all but this is more their fault than the venue’s. It’s a straight forward place. Locals with cash head to there for a reason. I think it’s fair to give the place a solid four stars. I would probably give it a half star or more if all of the ladies could be viewed in a single line up, and if those ladies were on average a little better looking. As it stands it’s still an amazing place.

Way back in March I wrote a review of Rio Spa in Macau. In that review I said that Rio Spa is one of the most well known saunas in Macau. That is certainly true. Today I’ll review Eighteen Sauna, another one of the most well known establishments in the Special Administrative Region.

Eighteen Sauna (also occasionally listed as “18 Sauna”) is located on the sixth floor of the Golden Dragon Hotel. The place is as easy to find as walking into the hotel and entering the elevator which is adorned with pictures of scantly clad Asian models advertising the sauna.

Once on the sixth floor things go pretty much the same way they do at any other sauna in Macau. Regular readers will know the protocol by now. The customer heads to the locker room and undresses while an attendant gives him a wrist band with a number on it to track purchases. The punter then heads in to the wet area where he can either shower himself or have one of the scantly clad Vietnamese attendants do it for him (though only if he’s not shy since the staffed showers are right out in the open). This soap up involves a bit of a jacking but doesn’t lead to anything else. After the shower the punter heads into the main lounge area where he he chooses a chair and sits down.

The lounge is much like the others around town too. It isn’t incredibly large or terribly small. It just is. At this point you may start to wonder why Eighteen is so well known. I sort of wonder the same thing and I don’t really have any answer. I can only guess that perhaps Eighteen has a great public relations team even though I found out about the place through word of mouth.

Eighteen Sauna has all the usual floor attendants. The women who provide services “from the waist up” (in their words) wear sexy short skirts but tend to be on the older side. The women who do foot massages and things like pedicures are mostly middle-aged Vietnamese gals who don’t appear to have received any professional training at all. The women who do the special “inner thigh massages” which take place under a big towel right on the main floor are mostly average looking women from Vietnam in their 20’s or early 30’s. The rates for all of these services tend to be higher than they are at most other saunas and the time limits appear to be shorter too. Worst of all these attendants and the floor attendants who get towels, free food and drinks and otherwise are meant to help customers are amongst the most unfriendly at any similar establishment in the city. There are always exceptions and bright spots but for the purposes of a review like this the overall view is what matters most.

Certainly the best aspect of 18 is the team of full service ladies. There are always plenty of gals on staff. Most of the women come from mainland China but a few other countries are also represented.

The vast majority of the full service women could be described as beautiful. That’s especially true for the Chinese ladies. Lineups happen fairly regularly with some of the women even giving punters a glimpse of the goods. Customers are under no obligation to chose a service provider until they are ready and some customers will view a few lineups before making a selection.

Once a punter chooses a gal she will guide him to one of the rooms. While the quarters aren’t all that important they are something that needs to be considered. Most all saunas have very nice rooms with many being specially designed for the purpose.

At Eighteen Sauna the standard room leaves a lot to be desired. It’s small and cramped, the sheets look like they’ve seen better days and the towels are obviously worn to the point of having holes in them. This is simply unacceptable in a sauna like this. Much lesser priced saunas are able to keep bright new linens in stock without issue.

What about the price? At Eighteen the price for a standard round of full service is 2500 HKD ($323 US) which is on the high end of the spectrum. What’s worse is the way they nickle and dime the customer, going as far as to charge 140 HKD ($18 US) for a condom. Customers have no choice but to give in to this extortion since it’s impossible for them to bring in their own condoms and unprotected activity is simply out of the question.

The level of service is on average good. While many of the women who work the full service gig at Eighteen are very beautiful and some are quite friendly, there’s nothing going on in the sauna that justifies the higher prices and little add on items that are thrown in.

Once things are done the punter is taken back to the lounge where the woman bids him farewell (at least until the next line up). He can either lay around some more, take up some other services (like a mediocre full body scrub) or head back to the locker rooms to get dressed and settle his bill.

In my learned opinion Eighteen Sauna is one of the worst saunas in all of Macau. The actual establishment is just okay, the prices are relatively high and the management seems unconcerned with the enjoyment of the customers. Little annoyances like charging extra for a rubber and lacking free wireless internet only make things worse. If Eighteen Sauna was located in some city where it was the only establishment of its kind I would possibly score it much higher. Since it’s located in walking distance of so many excellent venues like Famile Nobre and Emperor that provide more for less money I’m giving it a star-and-a-half.
